Re: Captain 7100 USB - Can't get all channels
Was your dish preinstalled, or did you install it (?)
If it was preinstalled, I would do a Factory Default, and do the auto-detect with the remote. Read about that in the Captain 7000 setup guide. The only difference between that and the Captain 7100 USB is the USB loading. If you installed the dish yourself, I would read here more about installing a dish. Key things to know, put in these settings when adjusting a Dish 500 with DP LNB: Echo 7 119w LNB Type: OCS_DP LNB Freq: 11250 DiSEqC: Port 1 TP: 12239 When you go back and forth, be sure to change the TP above to 12239 Echo 8,10 110w LNB Type: OCS-DP LNB Freq: 11250 DiSEqC: Port 2 TP: 12224 A dish 500 has to lean to the left as you are facing it. This is accomplished by adjusting the skew on the back of the dish. If the dish is not leaning and I know it looks funny, then it is NOT adjusted properly. Regular 18" dishes can be level. If your Dish 500 has a Twin LNB on it, you do NOT need the DiSEqC switch that came with it. If it is a Dish Pro LNB or called a DP LNB, that LNB has a DiSEqC switch built into it already. A good program for setting up a Dish 500 is here: Dish Point Utility

Re: Captain 7100 USB - Can't get all channels
the dish was installed by the good people at dish network. i still subscribe to the service and i get all of the channels with their receiver, but when i connect my fta i'm getting some new channels but not all of the ones i pay for. i tried the factory reset and autoscan but it dosen't make a difference. i'm using a dish 500 with a dp LNB. when i connceted my cable to the lnb there where two outputs, one was marked 110 and the other 119. i have two dish network receivers and one is connected to the 110 and the other is connected to the 119. they both get the same channels but i'm not sure if that has anything to do with my problem.
i finally got most of the channels, still missing some. but i'm still a little confused about my dp LNB. i read everything i could about LNB's but i'm not sure what DiSEqC setting i should put in. dp is one of the options, but when i do auto port option it sets it as DiSEqC 4 and puts 110 as port 1 and 119 as port 2 Last edited by jkiym : 03-25-2008 at 05:54 PM. |

Quote:
the problem you have is the 119 should always be on port 1 and 110 on port 2 like woodcreeker states.you always loose channels by going 110 on port 1.
