Blind Scan with the CW-4000HD

Good Morning AAAFTA!!!

I do not have one of these receivers but I am seriously thinking about getting one. One of my favorite things to do in this hobby is to find new FTA channels on different sats.

That brings me to this question. Does the CW-4000HD do a good job when scanning a Linear signaled sat? I have just gone over the manual and I do not see a Blind Scan feature. I do see a scan feature which scans programmed TP freqs and that is not the same.

Thanks in Advance for any replies.

No it doesn't. That's one of it's few shortcomings.

Re: Blind Scan with the CW-4000HD

I should have been more clear with my reply. No, it doesn't have a blind scan feature. I'm pretty sure it does a fine job at scanning for channels otherwise.

Re: Blind Scan with the CW-4000HD

I knew that it would do a regular scan.
I was wondering if it would pick up new TP freqs.
It it does then in effect it does do blind scans, but without being called a blind scan by the receiver functions.

Re: Blind Scan with the CW-4000HD

Try this ... Going from Menu-> Installation -> selecting the satellite that you want to blind scan and press the F1 key on your remote.

The above is just a guess, based on other CW software. When we run 3rd party software or even factory software you have to get lucky and see if the functions like this one are programmed in there somewhere.

I do not have this unit, or I would find this option if it is available in the software. The blind scan function must be there, somewhere, I would think. It is funny it is not a Menu option.

I have this on order now. I'll let you know my results at a later date.
BTW: the Nfusion doesn't have the Blind Scan function, so not all receivers can do it.

On another note: Do you know if the IKS is going to be incorporated into the S/W at a later date?

TIA
