FTA Question Trying to use external hard drive to use PVR

I want to connect an external hard drive to my cw800s pvr so I can record movies etc.. I tried using my USB cable but every time I connect to receiver it continuously says usb ready and restarts/boots over and over again. Any idea what I need to do? I'm using a western digital Mybook hard drive.

Thanks

bones1515, sounds like you need to reformat the External HDD/fat32. Is the External powered by the USB cable or external power supply. Can the receiver format the External HDD... If not.. Format the External HDD on a Mac using (fat32)... then try it...

Let us know your discoveries....

Re: Trying to use external hard drive to use PVR

"My Book" hard drive is brand new and it says on their web site that they ship their USB 2.0 drives preformatted with a single FAT32 partition. I just bought this one and I also tried the one I currently use with my Mac. So far, it does the same thing for each. ????

Thanks for your previous replies
