Cannot Load Bin
Grr
CW800s stopped displaying any programming (likely the result of my 3 yr old mucking things up with the remote). I am attempting to load the bin back to the receiver but the loader is not responding. I've rebooted, checked com ports, hard reset receiver, dl'd loader again (Firmware 1.03). Nothing is working. I have scoured the internet for any help in this matter and have found none. I am connecting the serial cable to the back, hard booting receiver and everything...loader is not transferring files. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. |

Re: Cannot Load Bin
Cable is the one that came with the receiver. It just appears that the box is not accepting any communication from the computer at all. I've tried reflashing it, loader sticks at 0%, receiver does not respond.
Ran hardware test to see if port is responding correctly, it is. Tried selecting different ports, same results. I'm assuming it's not rocket science and that I may be just missing some tiny little detail. I really do not know what else to try at this point. |

Re: Cannot Load Bin
The most common problems are wrong port, wrong timing on starting the dl or using a straight cable when a null cable is needed. You say you've had it for three years are you absolutely sure the cable came with this receiver? Do you have another receiver the cable could have come with?

Re: Cannot Load Bin
When you turn on the receiver from the rear power switch, hold in the front power button.
Doing this will display BOOT and the receiver is in boot mode. You can let go off the front power button when this is displayed. Then try to load the bin file like normal. Read this--> Captiveworks - How To Load Files In Standby Mode That is yet another way to load files. Now you know the three ways to load a file. Most people use a USB drive to load files on that receiver model.

Re: Cannot Load Bin
Thanks, Woodcreeker. I have been trying this for the last 3 days, booting from standby mode. I have factory reset, checked my pins, ports, drivers. I have dl'd different bin files just in case the ones i had originally were corrupted.
I have tried holding the power button in for varied lengths of time, still the loader does not move past 0% no matter which variable I change. TV displays no channel, even after factory reset. I've scoured for any resource available to get up and running, sadly it appears the baby has left himself without TV. Thanks Bob, but i mentioned that my 3 year old son did something to the tv. I have only had the box for about a year now. Any other suggestions? |

Re: Cannot Load Bin
You turn on the receiver and put it in BOOT mode first.
Then try to load the latest bin file or new factory file with the loader. Your son should not have froze it up with the remote only. How about spilling kool aid on top of it, that would do something to it. After you get it setup and running again you can lock the menu so that doesn't happen again. So, turn it Off from the back and get it into boot mode and try to load a file to it. Do not load the Telefonica or Amazonas bin files. You can also try to reboot your computer to rule out the transfer is not computer related.
