Does anyone know how I could do this get a movie dowload it to my computer and then take my Hard drive for my captiveworks 800 and place the movie on the hard drive and play it from the receiver? Thanks!!

Moving movies back and forth is just like moving files back and forth. Unfortunately, you will need to use one of the converters out there (not sure which one) to convert the movies to a GTS format for the CW800. The .gts extension is the only one that it recognizes as a movie.

The CW800S will play MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 format files, as well as its own GTS (MPG stream in an MPEG-2 transport stream envelope) format. Using a good converter, you can convert a Divx/Xvid AVI file to an MPEG-2 file and make sure the file has a .mpg extension or the receiver won't recognize it as a movie file.

The drive you use for playback can be formatted either NTFS or FAT32. NTFS for recording with the receiver is unreliable, with corrupted and missing files, but for playback of large files that exceed the 4GB file size limit of FAT32, it works no problem.

There is a freeware program "GOM Player" which will play gts files without conversion. Just google it to find their website to download. It is free and it works great!
