New hard drive
I just got a Fantom TFD500U16 500gb USB hard drive for $80 after a $20 rebate. Very good drive, works right out of box without reformatting. It is formatted at the factory with fat32. Works seamlessly with both the CWE800S and the Visionsat IV200PLUS. Rebate ends today!From buy.com.

The good deal on buy.com has since past because of the expiration of rebate. But even with no rebate, it is still a good deal. It has 16mb of cache, aluminum case and Hitachi made hard drive inside. What I really like is that it works right out of the box without reformatting. Hitachi bought the hard disk division from IBM a while back, so this is effectively an IBM drive with Hitachi name, a good product.
Another good deal is the 500gb Seagate Free Agent external hard drive at Office Depot for $99 this week. Seagate always makes good drives and has a long warranty. |
