no HD channels?
is there anything particular that must be set to see HD channels?
if i program to an HD channel it says "invalid program" |

you will need an HD receiver with an 8psk module to get HD on dn, and most of it is on sat 129. you can get them on bev without the module on sat 82.

what is a good HD receiver to get? does captive works make a good one?
also, what sat dish do i need for HD channels? i only have a dish 500 pro now |

Captiveworks makes a HD receiver, but it is actually a Linux box, and they are not really recommended as they are kind of complicated to get them running. The one I would recommend is the Sonicview SV-HD8000 V2. It has a history of being the best HD receiver. If you wish to test DN HD channels, you will have to get the 8psk modulation addon board for it.
