sometimes i cant get a channel like SciFi, sometimes I do. thought it could be rain fade, but happens sort of random. i know i'm hitting 119 ok because other channels come in good, like USA. this started with the last bin 5-24. it didnt do this before it dosen't seem to effect 110. last nite at around 3 am eastern it came in pretty good, but right now, about 4pm, it sort of gets all mixed up. been like that most of the day. weird

using cwultima and cw650

CW800 doesn't appear to be experiencing this problem. How's the weather been out your way?

You're probably experiencing rain fade. You will need to tweek the dish for 119. Don't forget to use transponder 2, as transponder 1 doesn't show signal.

The sats are 22,000 plus miles away that's a lot of weather between you and it, so it may be rain. If I remember correctly this is about the time of year when the sun can play games as well.

ya, i know theres ALOT of air between me and the sat, but i use
NWS - National Mosaic Enhanced Radar Image: Full Resolution Loop to check and many times there isnt a cloud between me and it. and why would it only effect 1 channel and not another on the same sat. i would think if it was rain fade, it would effect all channels from that sat, but that isn't what is happening.
hummm looking out the window i can see that a few trees across the street in a very large feild have gotten full of leaves. maybe thats the problem.
Any mad scientist know how to turn the dish into a energy beam to clear out some trees...

im not saying 100% that it is the box, but i had never experience any choppiness or signal weak messages with my coolsat box. It was only until i swicthed from my CS box to my CW box is when i started having alot of signal issues.

Hope u find a solution.

ok today everything is working well, but there's a big line of thunder storms between me and the sat. so much for rain fade. Perplexing.

i've been seeing pixelation every once and a while and a loud chirp when i switch channels. thought it was rain also, but have been wondering if its the switchover to n3, cause it's doing it when it's sunny out also.

This is really weird. this morning scifi,tnt,fx and a few others came in great.then they slowy started to degrade

I would say the 119 side of your lnb is going bad. Its probably getting weak. These things happen sometimes. The signal from the lnb is getting weak because of a power degredation in the lnb itself. Try another lnb & see if the problem goes away.

When i was first setting up my cw 700 i wasent getting any picture on certain channels for 119 sat.

My box seemed to pick them up but when i went to select the channel i got "weak signal" and no picture displayed? I knew my settings were right, in antenna settings i had about 96% quality and 85% strength for 119. but my chnanels still did not display it continued to say "weak signal"

This what i did.

I selected channel that i received the "weak signal" message on.
Clicked menu
clicked installation
clicked transponders
scrolled "right" under "edit" and it automatically defaulted to that channels transponder. (example it will read 13349)
*what i did was add 5 more numbers to this >>> for instance after i was done adding the numbers my new tp for this channel would be 13354.
Click ok
Click exit to exit menu
and all of a sudden the channel came through and now i have clear picture displayed.

Im not sure if this will work for you or not, i was unable to receive any picture. You are receiving picture but picture is choppy.

I just thought i would throw this in here, because this is what solved my problem and now i can actually view what little channels we still have on N2.

thanks for the advice, but if i put on scifi at 2 am eastern, it comes in great with all the others left on 119, but right around 8 am it starts to get choppy and within an hour its gone. it starts to come back around 12 midnite or so. kinda weird.

humm just though of something, maybe the lnb is going bad, but takes a little heat from sunshine to mess it up,
but why would other channels from 119 come no problem 24/7
well when electronic things go bad, weird stuff does happen i guess
