FTA Guide How To Save Channel List On USB Drive For Conaxsat CNX Mini

How To Save Channel List On USB Drive For Conaxsat CNX Mini

For Conaxsat CNX Mini CNX Trio, CNX Duo and CNX Mini

How To Save .SDB Channel List Files

Some of us have spent a lot of time customizing our channel lists and we hate the thought of having to rescan and customize that list again. The newer CNX receivers allows us to save our channel data so we do not have to waste our time scanning and making a new list. This feature is accessed through the USB menu in the Utility section of the receiver.

(1) Plug a USB stick or a hard drive into the receiver that has a minimum of 1MB of free space, and
then go to the Utility menu. Scroll down and highlight USB and press OK.

(2) If you have two hard drives connected to the receiver (Trio or Duo only), you will need to select the front or rear drive. This may be done by pressing the red button near the center of the remote and highlighting the proper drive. Then press the OK button.

(3) After the proper drive has been selected, press the green button near the center of the remote and the Select Save Mode sub-menu will appear. To save the channel data, Highlight Channel Data (SDB) and press the OK button on the remote.

Note: If you are saving to a blank disc, then C:\ should be displayed in the top left corner of the screen as seen in the above picture. If you do not see this prompt at the top of the screen, then your USB drive is probably not being read. Simply reinsert USB drive.

Box will pop up on your screen Flash Save Success.
(Press the OK button on the remote again)

(4) Verify that the file was saved. The file should look similar to what is highlighted in this picture above except the file number and the date should be different. All .SDB Channel files are 383KB in size regardless of the amount of channels that are stored in the file.

(5) After your channel file has been saved to your USB drive, you are ready to do a factory default and load any files for upgrades that are needed.

(6) To upload the file to the receiver, return to the hard drive where the file is stored and highlight the file that you saved. When you press the Ok button on the remote twice, the channel file will load and the receiver will reboot.

Press the OK button on the remote again and when the receiver reboots the second time, the saved channel data will be automatically loaded and installed. You will then need to check and adjust all of your stored settings in the Channel Search or Motor Setup menu, and the Control Panel menu. After you are satisfied that all your User Settings are correct, you can watch tv.
