False system info? COOLSAT 6K but shows COOLSAT 5K
I have a coolsat600 receiver but when I click on system infomation it is given me a model name of coolsat 5000 plat.

Model: coolsat 5000 platinum
S/W version:2.04p
H/W version: 2.10
Ch version: nov 01 2008(wrong date)

I was wondering is my receiver a "fake" coolsat6000?
Also is any info I provided up to date? not counting the date...

You are not the only one experiencing this, due to a key change, some receivers might have experienced some scrambling, but 201 is still a go with the 5,6k models, and also some reports that file 203 is working. Try and see. Good luck

The newer bin files changed your 6000 into a 5000. I tried bin file 175 as suggested by woodcreeker and system info had 6000 and several features (local channels numbering, more space for channels name) that weren't there with bin 196 and up. It seems coolsat decided to combine the bin files and took the low road and made everything like a 5000.

So you have a coolsat and your currently using bin 196? Is everything working fine for that file? No scramble channels or cuts on and off?

No Im in the same boat as everyone else freezing with 2.03 . 2.01 and 2.04 are working but freezing also.
