48HRS of EPG...Really!
My CS7000 hasn't been downloading much of an EPG (or EEPG) lately on channel 239 (WGN), so I tried some other things out. I thought I would share my results.
I tried downloading the normal 48HR EPG on another transponder, but nothing spectacular resulted. The best results I got were to do this. Tune into the RADIO channel 6001 and do a 3 day EPG download. This fills the EPG for the next 2 days anyway. I haven't been able to get a 7 day fill for months now.
So, why does channel 6001 work? Because it's on the same transponder as WGN and the EEPG stream. Maybe the 7000 doesn't have to parse as hard on a radio channel to get the guide info populated. I have the same type of result when I do this on my DVB computer system.
OH, to get to the radio stations (if you haven't done that before), make sure you have "all channels" selected in your favorites. Then press the lower left button on your remote (TV/RAD). Then you can use the EPG button to scroll through the available radio channels.
