What a rip- I really like my 7100, but I'm sure glad I have a back-up. Is it just mine that is down? I haven't had the 7100 working for 3 days now.

dont feel bad the sites are saying that there is no ecm but they are full of poop. Mine works but i have the coolsat 6100 private, i get the channels but they stay on for like 2 1/2 minutes then go out for 5 minutes then come back. so its not just you the new file will come out soon, lets be patient and wait for the nor west guys to do their thing

ya im looking to dump this pos off on someone and very soon!! mine does the 2 and half min on then off for 5min thing as well. everytime i wanna watch some good tv with my girl on the weekend im off renting! lol. this box will either make a good paper weight or a terrible anchor!!!!

Laffs, I've been picking on a friend of mine who replaced his Coolsat with a CW 800 several months ago. He decided to get the Coolsat out of the closet, dust it off and put it in his bedroom a couple of weeks ago. After much rewiring, getting the files, and finally a great picture. BOOM, it's down again. He is just about ready to drop-kick it out the door. However, have faith, it will be fixed again.

Well- my other box just keeps on ticking, but the Coolsat is still doing the same (with no new fixes on any of the sites).
The Coolsat IS actually one of the best boxes for True FTA, but one of the worst for this stuff.

Repoman what is the other box you have I have two cs 5k and 7100 both are down my brother - in - law has two viewsats and both his are down I would like to buy another box one that stays up a little longer and is quicker with the fixes. I dont think I will bail on my cs though. Any ideas.

hci2000, Your brother in laws Viewsats should be up.

You could look into the Sonicview boxes, they have made it through the last 13 or so ECM's.

I have 2 more boxes- Kinda partial to conaxsat or Sonicview brands myself- but better get suggestions from the experts.

Hey- the Coolsats are GREAT for True FTA- Just as good and some say- Better than most.
So put it up and wait for nag3- Then just buy an TFTA set up-
(36 inch dish and motor and an invacom LNB) That's what I'm in the process of doing now anyway.
At least when/if Nag 3 hits-- You will have one of the best boxes for TFTA. And Free TV that NEVER goes down.

repo! so ur saying the cs7100 will be a "bestbuy" for nag3? and what is this "setup" you be a talking??? which sats are you pointing at with a motor to hit? why cant we just put up a few sats and use the diseq2 switch?

Josh- Go to the TFTA (True Free To Air) section of this very site (AAAFTA)- learn about it- well worth the reads.... study it.
There are Many Satellites with Hundreds of (really Free) channels to watch.. It just takes the right LNB and a little knowledge. And never again wait on a "fix" or worry about an "ecm"...
You already have the reciever- Now all you need is an Invacom lnb, motor, and a little bigger dish.- All 3 combined sell for about 125.00 to 150.00- Money well spent since you already have the main component. (just my opinion)
And believe me, I'm no exspurt- But I have a friend that has TFTA setup- And I like it. Haven't got it yet- but it's on the way.

My CS 7100 has been freezing since Friday afternoon. EVERY time I get a day off which are few and far between they do this Dumb stuff. Why can't they leave us ALONE for at least a week for once.......

36in dish motor and the invacom lnb will allow for other sats to come in on the 7100 without fixes?

no bro they just dont have a bin yet because we have horrible support for coolsat i wish i had a backup but im going to through this 7100 out and get me a sonicview i am told they have been up since begining of jan without a glitch 1

thanks repoman... ill check it out. still duno just off the top of my head how i can get around this bin needed for the 7100 with ur tfta setup. i was thinking of making a bigger badder dish too. i found an older dish backplate. ive installed at least couple hundred dishes, im thinking this should be an easy deal! who knows?
