Loading keys to Coolsat HD8000


As with any new receiver and new software, advice on how to do things is a little skimpy at best sometimes. Tonight keys rolled on Bev and autoroll failed. Here is what I done to get my channels back.

The easiest way and recommended way, if it is a first install of keys on the receiver, is to flash a coolsat softcam key file to the receiver. The same softcam key file that works for all other coolsats will also work for the HD8000. You need to use the CS8000 Key Loader V1 to flash the softcam key file. The VS key Grabber and Opkey Maker V2.4 will grab the keys and create a softcam key file for you. If it is a first time flash of keys including via the bin files, the loader will also set the proper CAS Key Lines for you.

To use the VS key Grabber and Opkey Maker, download the progy and install it on your PC. Get your keys and then click on "Extras" and then click on "Coolsat Softcam F2" and it will save your softcam key in the VS 2.4 folder by default with current date name. Open the CS8000 Key Loader and browse in your softcam key file. Hit connect and reboot your receiver and it will download the softcam key. The softcam key file will contain all keys to get all channels up on Bev and Dish.

Manual Entry.....I would not recommend entering keys this way until after you use the softcam key file to create your CAS Line Entries. My first entry into the CAS and manually entering the keys would not take and there appeared to be double entries of the inactive 86 key and the CAS lines made no sense to me. After flashing a softcam key file all lines became clear as to function and how they were arranged.

To manually change keys: Enter the CAS via the remote Menus > Advanced > Key in "1,2,3 and 4" and this will open the CAS. Scroll down to nagravision and enter "OK". This will open the CAS Key Lines for the nagravision Providers. Scroll down to Provider and the key line you want to edit. CAS entries befin with Dish Network with Lines 1-4 inclusive. 00 and 10 are 0 key lines and 01 and 11 are the 1 key lines. Bev will be shown next on lines 5-8 with 0 or 86 key stored at 00 and 10 lines and the 1 or 96 key stored at 01 and 11 lines. The other entries are there for other providers including the BEV Private keys and other Providers. I did not take the time as of yet to determine which CAS line is what for the Bev Private Keys.

Entering keys: Once you arrive at the line you want to edit by scrolling down to it and then scrolling across to where the key begins, simply enter numeric keys by using the remote, to key in alpha characters, use the up and down button. The Cursor will move over automatically to next character entry when entering a numberic entry but after entering an alpha character you must manually scroll over to next character in line to be edited. At the end of a key line, you must scroll right which will return you to the beginning of the line where you can then scroll down to next line. It will not let you drop down to next line while in the key character line but change your alpha character. When comple, hit exit and confirm save and you have completed manually changing your keys.
