Re: need help with a 6100
This is what I suspected.
The way the dish is sighted now you are on 119W and 129W. Notice they are about as far apart as 110W and 119W, 10 degrees vs. 9 degrees. You will have to raise the dish about 7 to 8 elevations or thereabouts. Then, you will just have to move the dish towards the East just a little, about 9 degrees if you look at it from the top. This is about 2 seconds on a clock. You can lay a stick down showing where the direction the dish is pointed now, and make the move towards the East the 9 degrees. You may have to then readjust the Elevation slightly there to get the Quality signal. Do a Database Reset first. Sight in 119W on TP 12239. The signal for 110W will be there. Use these settings... sat 119.0 W freq 12239 MHz LNB Power on LNB Type OCS-DP LNB freq 11250 LNB22 KHZ off DiSEqC SW 1/off/off legacy SW off sat 110.0 W freq 12224 MHz LNB Power on LNB Type OCS-DP LNB freq 11250 LNB22 KHZ off DiSEqC SW 2/off/off legacy SW off Once you get a signal on 119W, tweak the dish for the highest Quality signal by going back and forth subtly, and raising the and lowering the elevation subtly. Like I said the signal for 110W will be there once you find 119W. Then you are ready to scan channels. I would run a TV and receiver right out to the dish to do this. Good Luck !!

Re: need help with a 6100
Did you mess with the skew, or not. If not you shouldn't have to touch it. If you messed with elevation & azimuth, you need to drop the dish 5 degrees & move it to the right about 10 degrees. I think your getting 110 with the 119 lnb.
Sorry, W/C I think you were going the wrong way. Don't mean to step on your toes. |

Re: need help with a 6100
I did some more research and I found out my exact position at where my dish should be pointed at. I will put them here, maybe someone else can use them. They are as folow: Azimuth > 241
Elevation> 37 Skew>139 After auto scan it gets all 3 sattelites 110, 119, and 121. The only problem that i have now is that 110 only finds 45 chanels. im guessing it must be from the sttings, but i follow them exactly like inWoodcreeker's post . I will keep trying to see what else i can do from settings. at least i knopw the dish is pointed right. If you guys can think of anything else please let me know. Thank you again!!! |

Re: need help with a 6100
I did some more tweaking and i got to this. If auto scan 110 gets only 45 chanells, but if i do a manual scan for each sattelite in part i get about 190 chanells on 110. Still all ppv chanells are still missing. Do you have any ideea whats happening here?
I will take a break and watch the spurs game. |

Re: need help with a 6100
What happened is you were on 119W and 129W. You just got what you thought was signal from 110W and scanned, and actually you were scanning 119W. When you scan 119W as 110W you will get channels for awhile, but the AutoTP will eat them all away.
Since I had your zipcode, I checked your numbers as well. Skew 134 Elevation 42 Azimuth 234 satman99 is very capable of helping you here as well. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, or so the saying goes... These numbers work best from a level mast pole. So, make sure the mast is level side to side, and front to back. Preset the Elevation and Skew. Set the dish on the pole, put in the settings I gave you above, and swing it towards the Southwest to get signal. Find Echo 7 119W first on TP 12239. You should also see the same satellite name appear on the screen somewhere as the one you are setting up. Tweak it for best signal on Echo 7, and check 110W, that should be there as well. Easy as pie. I had to use another old quote, as I use old school tools, so maybe satman99's numbers might be better, hard to say. The S and Q meters do not lie, the numbers get you close. Use the meters to tweak the dish for the best signal. Good Luck !!

Re: need help with a 6100
Thank you again. the numbers that i came with are from the Dish Pointing tool software that Woodcreeker reffered to another member in super dish installation. I recheked the numbers this morning and I got the same numbers. The numbers that Satman came up with are from a dish 500.
Again I'm using a Superdish with 3 LNB's, the lone LNB is to the left as you facing the dish. The cable are as W/C instructed me in 1 of the previous posts. from the DP 34 I only have one receiver. (6100 private). |

Re: need help with a 6100
Probably will be better if I use a dish 500( i have one laying around here) without the DP34 switch ?

Re: need help with a 6100
Oh sorry, I didn't realize you have the Superdish.
Yes, the Dish 500 is easy to aim. The Superdish you have is about as easy once we get it wired properly and understand it. Do you mean the lone LNB is to the left, as in to the West ?? The left as you look at it ?? Or from behind ??
