Help For Problems Loading Bin Files On Coolsat 4000 5000 6000

This great advice was given on another thread by Woodcreeker;

Hold down the Windows key and tap the Pause Break key.
This is a shortcut to the Device Manager
Click on the Hardware Tab
Click on the Device Manager button
Now in here click on the [+] in front of Ports
You should see 2 Communications Ports with numbers in (COM #)
For example (COM 1) and (COM 2)
Use the lowest number of the 2 for the COM port setting for your Coolsat loader
Try to load the unzipped bin file you have again if you found your COM port was wrong on your loader.

Maybe that will help.

Next, you should redownload the bin file again.
Delete the old copy, as it may be incomplete or corrupt.
Watch the countup go to 99% hesitate, then complete.
That way you know you got a good download.
Unzip the bin file.
Try to write that file again.

If you have the LNB cable connected for some reason, disconnect it and try it again.

Or, write down all your Antenna Settings first, since they were working.
Grab the remote and do a Database Default a few times.
Then try to write the bin file.

Download the Factory File and see if you can write that with the 2.4 Loader.
This should take and revirginized the receiver back to the way you bought it.

If that works, then, just write the latest bin file.
You will have to resetup satellites and rescan channels

If you tried all the above, I would suspect you have the wrong cable or a bad cable.
I would go to an electronics store or a computer store and buy another straight wired serial cable. Be sure the ends are the right on the new cable. When you find the right cable that works, mark it with a sharpie so you know which one to use the next time.
