Angry Clients Attack Loan Agents
(Oct. 27) -- A Southern California couple facing foreclosure on their home decided to exact revenge on two loan modification specialists by luring the men to a meeting where they were attacked and tortured, police said. In a bid to save their home, Daniel Weston and Mary Ann Parmelee, both 52, sought assistance with their home mortgage from two loan specialists, Luis Garcia and Lamond Dean, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday. But because Weston and Parmelee felt that Garcia and Dean had simply taken their money without offering them any actual services, the couple allegedly hatched a plot to get back at them, the paper said. Mary Ann Parmelee, Daniel Weston and Gustavo Canez are among five people charged with beating and torturing two loan modification agents. On Oct. 20, Weston and Parmelee allegedly lured Garcia and Dean to a Glendale location. There, Weston and another man, Gustavo Canez, attacked the two loan specialists, the paper said, citing police. Parmelee and two others, Mario Solomon Gonzales and Marissa Parker, allegedly were present at the beating that followed. Police said wooden knuckles and a handgun were used in the attack. Garcia and Dean were treated at an area hospital and released. Apparently, Parmelee, who is a real estate agent, Gonzales and Parker had all worked together and referred clients to Garcia and Dean in the past, the newspaper said. Parmelee, Gonzales and Parker face two counts each of torture, false imprisonment by violence and second-degree robbery. Gonzales also faces one count of possession of a deadly weapon because he was allegedly carrying the wooden knuckles. Weston and Canez, who are also charged in the case, appeared in court Monday. All five defendants are being held on $1 million bail. end C & P Whilst I don't agree with their method of revenge, I can understand it. Too many sharks are circulating home owners that are in danger of losing their homes and have trouble making their loan payments .
