Re: Digiwave 7000 to Coolsat 4000

You have to use a JTAG Cable to reprogram the TSOP. You cannot write the bin, it is a JTAG only bin.

Read The post again: Digiwave 7000 to Coolsat 4000 Clone Software

There are good directions inside on a MicroSoft Word file which include diagrams.

Have someone print it up for you if you do not have MicroSoft Word.

Good Luck !!

FTA Unhappy Re: Digiwave 7000 to Coolsat 4000

I'm a bit confused with the instructions to converting. I have a Digiwave 7000 with a serial number less than th 503 number in the instructions. I tried just downloading the bin file to the receive and I get "WRONG ROM IMAGE - RETRY" do I need to do any hardware changes?

Please help!

Re: Digiwave 7000 to Coolsat 4000

You have to JTAG the unit. You write the software with your LPT1 port from your computer right to the TSOP on the receiver. This means you have to open up your rceceiver and find the pins to hold a JTAG cable down to "connect".

I will post some pictures.

Okay, JTAG pictures. Since morgoth is doing this I wish he could have took some pictures of the procedure for you. He could help you though, if you have any problems. Sounds like he is doing the last step after the information I gave him above.

The basic idea here is you have to make a Jtag cable, run wires from certain pins down to the motherboard.

I will add more pictures when I find them. (I have a lot of junk on my hard drive to weed through)

FTA Angry Re: Digiwave 7000 to Coolsat 4000

OK! I think we need some help! I could just be a "dumb ass" but I am confused with some of the directions.

I have a 20 pin jtag cable ready and opened my Digiwave box and located the pins. However, I have some questions that are important;

1. What software do you use for jtagging? Ftlink needs com 1 or com 2 and the jtag cable is a parallel connection.

2. Do I need to convert it to a serial connection?

3. Which way does the jtag cable connect to the pins? Maybe a picture would help!

Thanks again!

Re: Digiwave 7000 to Coolsat 4000

Okay, i´m trying to attach jkeys.exe that is the software i used for jtag coolsat bin but i think i´m not allowed to do that so i don´t know if you could send me your mail. About the JTAG cable, a didn´t take pictures, there is in your connector a little triangle where it represents the pin 1, and there is another little triangle in jtag conector inside your digiwave, it indicates where you must connect pin 1 of you cable... triangle with triangle . I post the link for you where i read instructions about how to make a JTAG cable for being sure that all pin are in the right place. Follow this link: DIY Gadget - Coolest gadget depot! - Building Simple JTAG Cable (Powered by CubeCart) . Please tell me if you need something and i hope can help you

Thanks Morgoth,

I have jkeys.exe so I'm good there! I would assume that once i get a connection, I will use the bin file 142dg7000osf.bin and download it to my receiver with jkeys? Then I should be good to go with the coolsat 4000 loader?

Thanks again,

Re: Digiwave 7000 to Coolsat 4000

After the conversion, your receiver is no longer a Digiwave. It is now a Coolsat clone. You cannot use FTLink on it anymore.

Just take the latest loader and latest file from the Cooltec section, and see if you can write to your receiver and test if it works.

Re: Digiwave 7000 to Coolsat 4000

Maybe try to JTAG again with the jumper above hooked up, that looks like it eliminates the "boot" problem you are experiencing. Since your upload worked with the Coolsat Loader, and you see the version number of the software in the system information, tells me you did something right.
