Satellite Orbital Positions

Satellite Orbital Positions Picture

I simply had to draw something like this up. A picture is worth 1000 words or so around the forum here, maybe 100,000 words. This is roughly how the satellites are situated on the Clarke Belt. We rarely use the Echo 1 satellite sighted in, it is just drawn there for another reference point. If you are looking for Galaxy 10R at 123°W, well it is around 4° west of Echo 7, and a little down. Since most of us are primarily in North America and north of the equator, 0°W to 180°W is all south of us. Now you also know how they designate the west numbers of these communication satellites according to where they orbit.

The reason we are asking is because we are a small site just starting out and all expenses are out of pocket. In order to maintain and keep the site running it costs lots of money for server costs, maintenance, etc. It's more than one can be obligated to pay and we hope you can find it in your hearts to help support this site so we can continue to give you great support.
