Re: Can i get this sat?
Looking at the footprint you could probably get the Ku 1 and 2 band with a D500. I can't tell you if it's open or if you'll get the fight though.
I had a look at the channel you want, it uses DVB encryption (that's good). Maybe see if you can hit the bird with your dish and let us all know how it goes.

Re: Can i get this sat?
ncools you won`t be able to get that bird with a d500 it is just too small,Also the lnb`s for a d500 are circular and you will need a linear ,lnb and at least a 31 inch dish.I do have this bird locked in but never watch it so I`ll go do a scan and let you know the results..

Re: Can i get this sat?
Check out the Ku band footprint Caniac:
SatMex 5 at 116.8°W - LyngSat Maps SatMex 5 at 116.8°W - LyngSat Maps It looks like the sweet spot is right over him. Are you talking about the C-band? I'm not saying you're wrong I just wanna get it right for next time Doesn't change the fact he's still gonna need a linear LNB though. I think I read somewhere it's a good idea to go 2 dish sizes up from what Lyngsat recommends, is that true?

Re: Can i get this sat?
I am still tinkering with this bird to no avail.I remember sometime back woodcreeker and I helped a member with Satmex 6.That is where I got confused.Satmax 6 is no problem, the bird we are working on now is.I have tried several different setups and no luck. She is pretty tricky right next to a powerful bird 119w.Beeker I looked at lyngsat and a dish smaller than 31 inches will work, even a 24-25 inch dish for ncools location but still gonna need a linear lnb. Here in my location I can get by with a 30-31 inch dish.Keep in mind that those numbers that lyngsat gives us are in centimeters.Gonna have to convert, just multiply by .3937 what they recommend in cm and you will have youre size in inches.I welcome all testers for this one...Where ya at anil8tor?...I`m not giving up but just taking a break..
