Having Trouble with 1000.2

I have a Dishnetwork 1000.2 with Dish Pro Plus LNBF.

I have connected the lnb to the receiver in order to set the strength and quality.

I know the settings for 119 should be:

Satellite - Echostar 7 119W
LNB Power - On
LNB Type - OSC-DP
LNB Freq - 11250
22KHz - off
TP Freq - 12239
Diseqc - Port 1
Motor - off
Legacy SW - None

When I set up this, I get the following results in the top left hand corner

EchoStar 5 129W

I have put tinfoil over the other 2 lnbs on the LNBF.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks

Re: Having Trouble with 1000.2

That pops up because it means that the lnb on port 1 is actually pointed at EchoStar 5 129W. You might need to realign the dish, or the first thing to do is change the port settings for 119 and see what sat pops up on your screen.

Re: Having Trouble with 1000.2

The dish needs to move about 2 elevations up, and about 10 degrees to the East. If you have trouble finding a signal for Echo 7 right in there, try changing the TP to 12370. You do not need any tinfoil on the other LNBs.

Also, be sure the skew is set right. The whole dish will pivot and turn like a steering wheel when you loosen the center nuts. Check the manual for the skew factor by your zipcode in the tables in the manual. The dish will lean to the left when you look at the face of it.

It looks wrong leaning like that, but, it is right.

Then put in the other settings and see if you get signal on all 3 satellites.

Echo 8,10 110W (or Echo 6,8 110W) is DiSEqC port 2.
Echo 5 129W is on DiSEqC prot 3, TP is 12282.

Re: Having Trouble with 1000.2

when you are aligning the dish, start by getting maximum signal on 119 (the center lnb) and as wood suggests, skew a bit to fine tune the other sats.
