The Viewsat Ultra

This is one of my favorites, never had a problem.

The VIEWSAT ULTRA is our most powerful and exciting Free To Air Receiver yet!. We’ve added a faster processor (200 MHz), double the memory of the Xtreme (32 Mb SD RAM), and a USB communications port for easy data updates. Now you can use your USB flash drive to update your receiver. The new universal remote that comes with this Unit is awesome. If that's not enough, wait until you see the new colorful Graphic User Interface. This is by far the best FTA STB the market has ever seen.

This gives it a real edge, but it also has a really powerful processor that is superfast and will make sure that everything loads as quickly as possible. The picture quality that you get with the Viewsat Ultra is also improved by the use of such great components and you get a really clear picture that will be better than most of it's contemporaries. The picture also owes some of its clarity to the S Video features.
One of the more useful features that it has is the on screen program display. In full color, this will help you to find your favorite programs and channels easily and is a great time saver. The seven day program menu is a really good way to plan in advance for those programs that you do not want to miss.
The tuning set up is fairly easy and the fine tuning is automatic which is very useful. The audio viewer in the radio channels is a great feature and will add to your listening enjoyment. It is also MPEG2 and DVB ready and has a great zoom picture feature. It even has it's own video games and supports 15 languages along with VBI and OSD teletext. The on screen display is very much like your computer and as such is very easy to understand, even as a new user. There is also an advanced and easy to use upload system to make it even faster and more convenient. Upgrades are via a USB and this makes them quick and easy to do. There is a favorite channel selector which means that you do not need to keep searching for your favorite channels.
The casing is good and it looks as though it built to last. The ultra looks great and is well worth checking out if you are upgrading. The Viewsat Ultra is definitely one of the best machines around and is well worth the money. There are others in the price range that are good, but the Ultra is really the best and is good value as well.

Re: The Viewsat Ultra

Files are found here for the Viewsat Ultra receiver:

http://www.aaafta.com/forum/viewsat-...vs-2000-files/

There has been an ECM yesterday.

You will have to wait for the new bin file to be released.

The latest file there only works for locals and regular basic channels.

PPVs and premium channels are down at this time.

Re: The Viewsat Ultra

Hello

I have a viewsat ultra and am trying to get the timer record feature to work.

It works to turn the STB off (using 24hr clock settings) but only works to turn the timer ON in the AM hours NOT the PM hours. Any idea(s) why?

Thanks
