I am once again going to throw a little more fuel on this rumor and if some of the more seasoned FTA's could give a little insight.

I have just noticed that on 2 sites of trusted FTA sellers that they have both just lowered the price of the Sonicview 8000 by about $50 in the past day. I can imagine that if this is then new price that other sites will follow suit in the next couple of days.

Could this be used as an indication that SV wants to start selling off their 8000HD units to reduce their stock just prior to bringing in their 360HD. And after reading the taped conversation between the SV guy and the informant it sounds like they need to bring out an HD unit that is capable of handling the new chip.

Anybody have any thoughts?

I'll buy one. Just not right now, unless I can off my 8000.

Also when they said they were testing the majicboard back in November they said it would work with the 8000. That could change though.

They still may want a less expensive single tuner line and a more expensive dual tuner. If the new chip works with both I will have to see how expensive each unit is and then decide what to buy. Hopefully it does work with that 8000.

I have been looking forward to the 360HD since I heard of it. Now I wonder how much the 8000 would be worth after the 360HD release.
