I sure most of you laugh at these speeds, as do I. This is through my cell phone tethered to the computer. I am living in the sticks temporarily, hopefully 6 months or less, so I don't want to get into a contract or have anything run to the house. So this is my best option right now. Only $19.99/month for unlimited data through T-Mobile.

While it is slow, for regular surfing it is adequate. Most web pages take 2-3 seconds to load, I can live with that. I can have all my trading programs and charting software running silmutaneously without a problem. I can have 4 tables of poker open at a time without a problem. Big files take a while, and huge files like movies are out of the question. I can live with it for now, though, because I can do everything that I need to.

Once or twice a month it will get really slow where it's not usable, usually not for more than an hour at a time. My phone is 3G capable, but this is 2g (Edge/GPRS) as I'm out in the sticks and have no 3G coverage. In the 3G area I hear I could probably get about 10x faster, but I've never tried it. The best I have gotten and tested was 0.19 down/0.10 up.

All in all, I can't really complain for $19.99/month, and I can bring it with me anywhere with a laptop.
