A German satellite dealer here has told me this morning that they have already cracked the N3 in Germany. Although he is a reliable source can anyone confirm this?

I'll believe it when I hear it from someone like Woodcreeker.

yes I've heard this too it's cracked in Europe , don't expect an N3 fix here until both providers completly move to N3. Just have to wait, no need to worry.

Yeah this has been cracked for a while, but YOUR N3 needs to be cracked and open here before Your coders can know what encryption measures they take over here and what code is used behind that encryption.

Not To worry though i have it on good Authority that N3 will fall just as easy but that it will just take the time that it takes for both providers to go into full swing with it so that everything and every bit of info can be made available to the coders before a fix can come out.

So just because the Code that the Germans used is toast and Skyview and what not does not mean that Dik and BEV is open now too right of this moment its two diffrerent albeit simiular things.

Could you expand a little and explain a little more for us novices. What exactly is an N3 and if it has happened universally, does that mean all providers in each country have reached an agreement to operate it consecutively. Sorry for duh

N3 = Nagra3 a card form made by Nagravision

N3 is actually an abbreviation for Nagravison 3, the third edition/version of the Nagra encryption system. It was developed by Kudelski, a Swedish company and their encryption software is licensed to a number of satellite TV providers including various companies located in Europe, the U.S, Canada, Phillipines, and others. The encryption technique is often referred to as a "Conditional Access System" which simply put, you can gain access to the encrypted content only if you subscribe or pay (the "condition") money to the provider or owner of said content. Because programming is transmitted from a satellite in encrypted form, satellite receivers must contain integrated decryption units called a CAM (Conditional Access Modulator). In the case of DN, this takes the form of a "Smart Card" but the card itself is not N3. It is only the decryption portion of N3. Yupper,eurovox and itgate do not have N3 emulation on their receivers,private card sharing with triple dragon and dream is all thats going on.
