Charlie Granted Permission for 10 New Satellites
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Charlie has applied for and been granted permission to build and launch 10 new satellites. Quote from FCC application documents... DN hereby applies for authority to construct, launch and operate a Direct Broadcast Satellite (“DBS”) system composed of a total of ten satellites using the 17/24GHz Broadcast- Satellite Service (“BSS”) frequency bands (“DBS Expansion Band”) allocated by the Commission to provide new and innovative DBS services... DN intends to launch these satellites into the orbital locations at 61.9° W.L., 67º W.L., 77.2° W.L., 86.3º W.L., 124º W.L., 128.6º W.L., and 147.6º W.L., respectively, assuming a 4.5° spacing plus or minus a separation distance of up to 0.4 degrees between each satellite. DN has also already filed applications to operate DBS Expansion Band satellites at 110º W.L., 114.5º W.L., and 119º. At the moment, these new satellites are known as Echo EX-1 through EX-10.
