i just purchased a captive works cw-700s i already have a dish aimed at a bell satellite i loaded the newest bin and started it up it shows the channel listings but it says there scrambled

any ideas of what im doing right or wrong im sorry for the lack of knowledge i have im just getting into this stuff

ive searched and came up with nothing

Press f1 000 and make sure it says "patch enable" as long as you have the latest file installed.

i installed the latest bin file from a usb key and pushed f1 000 but it didnt ask me for the serial number after the file was installed when i tried going to channel it said channel scrambled again

any ideas of what i did wrong?

What is the number of the file you installed?

you need the 2008-10-15 v1.92 make sure you save your channel lists first, cuz it will delete all that ,and your settings, everything, also make sure you have auto roll on and all that good stuff in your settings

actually dude if your running DN on your 700 v1.90 9-29-08 is still up and running its gonna ask you for your model number under right front of your machine,you type it in twice and it'll load up,should be good to go

i think im missing something really simple but im not sure what, this is what ive done i started with a brand new receiver took it out of the box, hooked it up, downloaded the most recent bin file needed (2008-10-15 v1.92) let it reboot, put in serial # of receiver. then it rebooted (i believe). then i went into channel settings and set it on auto channel scan and when it asks FTA channels only i said no. i didnt touch any other settings in the menus. Is there any i should change in the menus? or anything im missing im so new to this thing and im just not getting a grasp on it

I also bought a cw 700s usb. Works great i was reading up in this site and was able to get her up and running in no time,, thanks Guys

I found this info very helpfull to tune your sats that is if your on DN 110,,119,, I also have the 500+ dish and the dp lnb

Mayagirl,

Firstly are you sure you need new keys, isnt your unit on autoroll? If it has been on autoroll for a while then you need a new bin. The latest new bin is on here.

You want to change the antenna settings. If you are looking for Bev, change the satelitte to Nimiq 1 at 91W. There will be no signal strength showing but that is OK push the red Auto button on the remote.
Exit out and go to System Settings scroll down to where it says Cahannel No change that to read SID then exit out to watch TV.
