Can't seem to get signal. Is my setup Right?

I'm new to all this and I have been trying to read around for answers but haven't found any person with my setup. I have a Conaxsat mini reciever. Using a 30" dish with lnb brand spitfire standard KU lnbf along with directv compatible lnb by calamp. Forgot to add in the channelmaster 4x4 multiswitch. My problem is that i haven't been able to get a good amount of signal, prolly no more than 20. I connected the spitfire to the sat A part of the multiswitch there is only one wire that comes from the lnb, I connected that to the 18v part of that Sat A. The other lnb has two wires that I connected to Sat B switch 13v n 18v I believe. My settings for the dish (Echo7) is Elevation 50.6 (90250 zip)and I have been moving it around the direction that the dishpointer site gave me and barely any signal. Wondering if i'm doing something wrong like setups not right or jus dish not pointed right. Echo7- diseqc off-tp 12239- lnb 11250-22khz off-mds-off. Hopefully that was detailed enough and any help would greatly be appreciated thnx.

When tuning satellites in, barrel the wire at switch. Don't tune dishes with switch in place. It'll make life a lot easier.

Re: Can't seem to get signal. Is my setup Right?

I was under the impression that Spitfire only made Linear/Universal LNBs. Linear LNBs mounted on a 30" should bring in true FTA channels (check Lyngsat.com for listings). The CalAmp (California Amplifier) LNB, on the other hand, is a circular Ku band LNB that can bring in DirecTV channels (if you have a subscription and receiver; DTV channels cannot be received by the CNX). If you point the CalAmp LNB to Echo 7 and properly align the dish, you will be able to target DN channels. Your best bet is to connect a cable directly from the LNB to your receiver when setting things up for the first time. A multiswitch is best added to the mix only after you get everything working. This will greatly simplify troubleshooting if you experience problems (as Satman suggested).

Re: Can't seem to get signal. Is my setup Right?

I have tuned in a few and it is alot easier to do it with out the switch. also check out satpointer.com it uses google maps and also shows the skew if needed. another god way to tune in a sat is use a small tv when you do it and takte it out side. much easier to do than yelling at a friend or loved one.

note: while tuning in the sat also run the channel find after for that reciever that way when you bring it back in you are already to go.

Re: Can't seem to get signal. Is my setup Right?

Thnx for the help. I'm gonna try an align the satellite with the spitfire lnb. Connect the wire directly from the box to the lnb. On my conaxsat mini, how should my setting be for channel searching?
