need a little help with nFusion PHX, please

If someone could help with the setup for a nFusion Phoenix, it would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to setup for B*v. I have I=on, P=on, Emu=off and SUNS=disconnected.

Thanx a lot.

Re: need a little help with nFusion PHX, please

Well, generally you connect the nFusion to a router.

This way your internet connection can be shared with your computer and your receiver.

Be sure you have the latest file loaded to your receiver.
You can do this with a USB drive, or using the Webloader.
There is also a way to do it through the serial port, but a USB drive or the Webloader is recommended.
Simply place the unzipped file on a USB drive and use the remote to upgrade the receiver is the easiest.

Next is you need to connect the receiver either with a cat5 cable or a wireless ethernet bridge. Most guys use wireless as you do not have cords running around to trip on. That is an optional thing to do later, and you can get it running with the ethernet cable that came with the receiver.

If you are using a router, you may need to enter your receiver IP into your settings.
You can find this in the router settings from your browser.

C/P the below web address into your browser ...

Code:
http://192.168.1.1
You may need to adjust settings in there for your firewall for the nFusion.

Last thing is the light on the nFusion should be green and that shows you are connecting to the server. The receiver will need to receive updates about every 20 seconds or so from the internet or it will freeze. Servers running constantly have their ins and outs. They have to be rebooted at times, or maintained. This will in turn cause your receiver to "freeze up" from time to time as you are not able to get the updates. If they take the server down for a period of time, like a few hours for some types of maintainence, then of course your receiver will be down for that period of time, too.

Hope this helps with covering some of the basics for now.

Good Luck !!

The reason we are asking is because we are a small site just starting out and all expenses are out of pocket. In order to maintain and keep the site running it costs lots of money for server costs, maintenance, etc. It's more than one can be obligated to pay and we hope you can find it in your hearts to help support this site so we can continue to give you great support.

Thanks for the reply!!!!

I only have the light when the emu=on.....it is my understanding that the emu is supposed to be off????

And, I have the firewall in the router turned off. The Phoenix does download the weather so the box is connecting to the internet.

Now is there a special proxy I am supposed to be using. Or, will any proxy work? That may be where the problem is for me.

I have decided that I like this box better than VS for some reason.
