I hope someone is able to help me. I have a Captiveworks 800 running BEV programming. The last fix that came out I loaded it into the receiver via USB stick, and when it rebooted my BEV programming was gone and everything was still scrambled. Now my reciever is programmed I think to DN (not sure - channel 351 is A&E not PPV as it should be)
I got the lastest files this morning and loaded them into the receiver but it is still not working and the channels did not return to BEV.
I am not sure what I did but I am hoping that someone will know what happened and be able to help me get my CW800 back to BEV.
It will be much appreciated if someone can help me with this issue.

last fix that was released today does work, BUT switching between DN and BEV will cause the receiver either to freeze, or it will take some time to get the channel up.

If it freezes, just reboot from the on/off switch on the back.
If it says "scrambled channel" just wait on the channel (up to 3-4 minutes at times), but it will work.

The current fix is TEMPORARY fix only, just so we can have some TV while they are working on a more stable solution

I tried to leave receiver on but still nothing. Black screen with scrambled message. Also still not showing BEV. Is there a way that I can return to my BEV programming and not the current one that is showing. I did a receiver reboot and waited for 10 minutes and still not working.
Not sure if this matters, but when i loaded the 39 fix i hit the fav button which did an upload. That is when it turned the programming to a different one, When i loaded the 40 fix it did not return to BEV.
Is there anything else I can do to have it return to BEV and be working again?

Did you enable the patch? (F1 on remote and '000' - 3 zeros?)

If you did, try to redownload the file and write it again, something went wrong. After you enable the patch on the second try, and it still doesn't work, you may have to do a factory reset, and resetup your dish antennas, and rescan the satellites for channels again. Be sure you write down your antenna settings if you do not know them.

I have never had to run the patch before. I seen the directions to do this when I first started reading on the site but cannot locate it again, would you please point, or explain how and when would I do this and will it also return my programming to BEV for me?

if you have done nothing but installing the last bin file, than in general, your patch is enabled.

do this:
press F1 on your remote (lower part of the remote)
then press the Zero (0) 3 times.

You will get a message on the screen stating the patch is enabled or disabled (based on the current status of the patch)

if the message says it is disabled, than do it again to enable it, if the message says it's enabled, then you're good to go.

Appreciate your help but my patch is enabled and still no go. I geuss my question is also how or what did I do to change the programming? The new fix is still not working for me and what can I do to change back to BEV or am I stuck on the current programming that is there?

the question is really, what have you done that changed your settings...
once you downloaded the new bin from today, you installed it and then rebooted and the machine just lost bev?

did you do anything else (like re-scan the sats, factory defaults etc...)?

no i just loaded the new ones. My programming changed on the last one (39) before i installed it all was fine, once i installed the #39 that is when I lost BEV. Now when I installed the last one (39) I went to software and selected it, instead of hitting the ok button, I selected the FAV button which uploaded. I had been doing it that way as someone i knew said to do that. Meanwhile after loading the 39 fix that is when I lost BEV. I have not touched or changed any stats,factory defaults, etc ( I am to much a newbie - AKA - chicken) but i did somehow manage to mess up my receiver. I am not sure if it is DN that i am receiving I just know that my screen is black and the channels are not the same prior to the #39 installation. Even after installing today (#40) i still cannot retrieve BEV or anything

i would reccommend to download the file again and install it again.

If you are using a USB Drive...
Download the file and unzip to the USB drive.
MAKE SURE YOU DO "Safe Remove" to disconnect the USB drive from your computer.

Plug USB Drive to back of CW800
Press USB button on remote
Scroll right to "Software" tab
Scroll down to the file (.bin)
press OK
Press the > (right) button on the remote to confirm "yes" to "update database/software"
press Ok to start installation
Press the OK when asked to reboot receiver

Once receiver reboots, you might want to check that your antenna settings are set for DN and Bev

press the "Sat" button on your remote...
you might have set to only watch the DN sat.

When you press the Sat button, scroll left/right to select "all packages"

Perfect..Thank you I got my BEV programming back, but unfortunately I still am not receiving any channels. I am still seeing the scrambled signal with black screen. The new one is not working for me. I followed the directions and I did a reboot when asked but no channels are working. Am I missing something?

turn the receiver from the on/off switch on the back, wait a few seconds and turn it back on.

Wait for the signal to come, it will take a while but it should come on.

Again thank you so much for helping me but unfortunately after doing and trying all I am still not receiving any channels. I turned it off and on by the back switch and waited but to no avail. The screen comes up I can see the channels but it does not show the titles or what is playing on the channel and it also shows 0% for reception on the screen with the scrambles message as it goes black. I am not sure why my system is not accepting the fix files it normally does. I think I am stuck.

It's not your machine, it's the fix.
Right now only a temporary fix is available, nothing stable..

When i get the "weak signal" message i usually change the channel a few times (from 351 under) and that seems to bring the reception / signal back to live...
Not sure why, but i have the same issue sometimes...
try going to channel 351 (VU1) and then go down in the channels to 350.. 349 etc.. you should see the signal/quality bar on the screen come back to life, then go to a movie channel (351 and up) and see if the A/R (autoroll) works and let's you watch TV.

Do the same for DN to see if DN will roll better/faster

Just tried it and it does not seem to want to bring anything in so it may be the fix is not working for me. I think I may need to wait for the next one to come out and try that. Again thanks so much for all your help and patience with me it is greatly appreciated.

Sometimes when you change providers with this temp fix, you have to reboot the box. Change the channel first, wait to see if it comes up, then reboot the receiver. Wait a good 15 seconds when it is OFF before turning it back on.

I would try to load the fix again with the serial cable and Loader. If your channels are truly not there after the serial bin write, then, I would simply rescan the missing channels in. This fix works, but channels do not come up for 20 seconds when you change channels.

Also, a question... Do you have another receiver there hooked up??

If you do, turn that one off until you get this one running.

Try this procedure. not my work, copy& pasted for you to try.

How to set up cw 800 (for bev with no switchs )
Download/Unzip files.Transfer files onto USB stick then plug it into the box.
You should see a message that says USB ready.
Now press the USB button on remote and then scroll to the right to open Software tab.
Look for file and press OK to load it. After it loads it will ask you if you want to reboot say YES.
When it reboots then go in menu and do a Factory Default.
Then reboot again . When it comes back up now you can setup sats and options and rescan all sats.

after you load new bin do a factory default which will delete all settings
then go menu ok Installation
Antenna Setting and press OK
satelite name; nimiq 1 91w ( for bev)
transponder ; 12224v/20000/auto
lnb freq. ; 11250
lnb type ; standard
22 khz ; auto
disqc # ; none
legacy sw ; off
motor ; none
After Set Up been done you can scan the satellite by pressing the "RED" button in your (Auto Scan)

After done with that exit out of all menus and with remote press F1 000 to enable the Patch.
You should see a message on tv that say PATCH ENABLED.
Now wait for keys to roll and watch tv

Still no channels for me, I tried shutting it off and turning back on via the switch in the back, reloaded the USB stick and redid on the receiver - no luck. I only have the one receiver hooked up to this television. In reviewing the last post about the factory defaults, I have never done a factory default as you posted the directions for - and being a newbie my question is...is this repairable if i mess up doing those transponder things, etc. and are those the exact numbers, etc that I put in or do i need to write down current ones.
