Help requested VS PRO

Hello. Newbie here. I just hooked up my new receiver and did the basic setups. Have good signal. I'm ready for the nitty gritty and I want to make sure I get it right the first time (or at least don't permanently mess something up). If I do this

Guide To Loading Latest Bin File To A New Viewsat VS Pro With USB Drive

then this

Scan Setup For Viewsat VS PRO

will I be off and running? If so, how do I make sure that my USB drive is formatted to FAT 32, and that I'm using "safe" remove to avoid corruption?

Thanks!

You could format the drive using your computer.
Format | then select Fat32 as the file system.

But the easiest way is to let the VS Pro do it for you..
-Plug in the USB Drive
-If required on the Record Setup menu select the USB Port you plugged it into, Front or Back
-Then select Format Hard Drive on the same Record menu

Again on the Record menu is USB Safe Remove. Or just toggle the USB port to the other unused one and you can unplug the drive.
