Hi,
I just had a Sonysat DSR-4000 FTA Premium receiver with original firmware. First thing (before setting up any sats! ) was to upload Silversurfer 1.4d2 with Sonysat loader v3.
Following has occured: LCD of receiver started blinking 5555, and loaders process indicator goes up in %. Once loader said that upload completed, receiver displayed rrrr, but process indicator of loader hadn't reach 100%.
Anyway, waited at least 2-3 minutes until disconnected/reconnected STB from AC power. Menu and submenus are fine, but I am unable to switch STB off normally. Pressing button on remote or STB gives 000 on LCD of STB and "Bad Signal" message on TV screen. From this point only way to communicate is disconnect STB from AC power...
Tried earlier Silversurfers and loader v3.1, same outcome.
Original software from SonySat site with 2k232.exe heals my system, restore factory state. RS232 cable is the same, but tried with another one - same result.
Any thought? I would appreciate... I am afraid my STB does not like SilverSurfer...

Try the new xbin file. Follow the directions. Be sure to "Load with Data" on your first write, as in these directions. Any problems, get back to me here.

I will help you get up and running, but tonight, I will be out for a few hours.

Hi, I hate to tell this, but same error with xbin 146: unable to switch on after switching off my receiver. During fw update 4 F-s blinking, after that "-"-s, and finally 4 r-s lit. So it seem to be OK, until I switch STB off... Maybe the next info says you something. Hi, I would like to report, that there is some improvement in my issue with SilverSurfer v1.47 xbin . I am able to switch off and on SonySat DSR-4000 FTA Premium stb, but there is some signal remaining in scart so TV does not switch back to TV mode. Thanx for your time and your efforts. Regards: G.

That would have been my next suggestion. I think to maybe eliminate the errors, I would try to write the same bin file again (v1.47). It cannot hurt. If errors persist, but are lessened somewhat, write the same bin a third time.

Report back on your results.

Daily report : first reloaded 1.47 xbin again without data. There was no change, video signal still remained. Second loaded with data, and stb started to freeze again after switching it off. Reloaded again with and without data. Same freeze.
Then I had an idea: searched a bird's all transponder (Sirius 3,4) in the list. When at least one channel is set up correctly, you can switch off receiver and on again.
But signal in the Scart AV cable still remains, so the way I switch stb off is pushing TV/SAT button first, and it is ok this way.
