Re: Help for SONIC VIEW 4000???
You do not need an EXE file for a Sonicview SV-4000. All you need to get is a USB drive. Format the USB drive to FAT by right clciking it in Windows Explorer. Unzip the latest file, and copy it to the USB drive. Use the Safe Remove icon in the lower right tray after that to remove the USB drive from your PC (avoids data corruption). Put the USB drive in the USB port under the front door of your receiver. Menu -> USB Mass Storage -> select File and Hit the Red button. That is it.
Good Luck !!

Re: Help for SONIC VIEW 4000???
Echo 8,10 has the Locals most PPVs, and a lot of Premiums. You had it working okay you said. Well, you should have all channels, so, I think you may have a settings problem. If you had your Dish / LNB combination listed I could help you further.
I would do a factory default. You must have screwed something up. I will guess you have a DP LNB and a Dish 500. This is the most common setup for DN. Dish 500 w/ Dish Pro LNB. Run a cable straight from back of receiver to one of the LNB ports. You do NOT need the DiSEqC switch that came with your receiver. Echo 7 @ 119w LNB Type: OCS-DP LNB Freq: 11250 DiSEqC: Port 1 TP 12239 After you setup a satellite the next thing to do is to scan channels, directions are on the screen. When you get these settings right, you will see the same satellite name pop up in the upper right part of the screen as the one you are setting up. They have to match. Echo 8,10 @ 110w LNB Type: OCS-DP LNB Freq: 11250 DiSEqC: Port 2 TP 12224 Scan channels. Exit and Ok to Save Settings. Exit out and wait for a couple of minutes. TV should come up. Do not forget to set your Time Zone. Enjoy!!

Re: Help for SONIC VIEW 4000???
Well, that's your whole problem. You are only going to get one satellite if you only have one LNB hooked up to it, and that is the satellite it is aimed at. You cannot just say, well, I am setting up Echo 7, Echo 8, Echo 5, or Nimiq 1, 2, etc, etc. and nothing works.
So, the only satellite you are going to get is the satellite name that pops up in the upper right. So, do a factory default, and put in the below settings. LNB Type: Standard LNB Freq: 11250 DiSEqC: None TP: 12224 Now a satellite name will pop up in the upper right. Whatever that satellite name is, you have to go that satellite in the settings, and setup and scan just that one satellite. If you want other satellites, you will have to get some LNBs and hook them up to the DiSEqC switch you got from your receiver. Each LNB has to be sighted in, as your Ariza dish is probably not positioned properly to capture other satellite signals. But it can be.

Re: Help for SONIC VIEW 4000???
Do not feel stupid, please. Everyone was a newbie once.
I need to know what dish you have. If you only have an 18" dish, that is fine. If I were you, I would add a Dish 500 with a Dish Pro Plus Twin LNB. This setup will enble you to get the most TV for the least. I will help you set it up and sight it in. It may seem complicated, but it is not really. This setup for 110w 119w and 91w is the most common FTA setup. So, just let me know what Dish / LNB combination you have.

Re: Help for SONIC VIEW 4000???
Was this dish pre-installed? It can be setup for DN or BEV but not both. It may be set to BEV from what I have been reading. Put the LNBs in the places marked 110 and 119.
If your dish was preinstalled, the 110 LNB will be for Nimiq 2, 82w, the 119 LNB will be Nimiq 1, 91w. You wire them to a DiSEqC switch, and which DiSEqC switch position you wire it to has to be setup that way in the Antenna Settings. I know it may be confusing, but, this dish will work for both, but not at the same time. Notice DN 110 and 119 is 9 degrees apart. So is Nimiq 82w and 91w, 9 degrees apart. To get DN you will have to get another Ariza dish. |
