You can go with CW700,Viewsat Ultra or Sonicview 4000.

Their support are great so far.

Re: coolsat down...where to go from here

VS and SV seem to be the two most reliable brands. You might look in the CW as well.
Or if you are interested in more uptime then the conventional STB, you might check out the IKS supported STBs (Neosat, Nfusion).

What is your price range?
What sort of features are you interested in (PVR, HD, USB, IKS etc.)
Give us a few more details and we'll help you narrow it down.

Re: coolsat down...where to go from here

When looking for a new STB, choose a company that is steady updating there STB's with newer bins and releases. If the company is strong, there releases will be out, usually within hours with a new fix. This is not always the norm but they will never be days behind other manufacturers releases. Also, a strong company will be costantly designing new STB's with faster and better features. They will be on top of all the latest technology, and be announcing there future makes and designs on there home web page...

Re: coolsat down...where to go from here

First let me welcome you to our friendly forum Lox_79 , all the above posts are spot on buddy. If I wanted a bin type it would be , viewsat -sonicview-captive works-captain
As far as IKS it would be Nfusion - Captain7100/dongle heard lots of good reports on the Kbox and hopefully Neosat ipro 2000 will have their hybrid going in the next few days. As stated you never know what is around the corner but any and all of these brands have great support to date.

Re: coolsat down...where to go from here

We should let you know that there is possibly a way to convert your old coolsat into a skyview (possibly even a captiveworks 600). I wouldn't suggest attempting this if youre not experienced but it is something you should consider.

Though I've heard that this could be a hoax and haven't tried it myself. Just throwing it out there.
