Need help getting set up.
A couple of questions. First as I stated in a prior post about buying this stuff I am VERY new at this. I apologize in advance for any repeated questions I may ask, remember I am pretty unfamiliar with the lingo but can look up anything I don't get if you use the technical names of stuff.
My equipment: 2 Sonicview Elites 1 Dish Pro 1000+ My LNB is like this. I have a DPP44 switch with 1 power inserter. What i want to do: I want to be able to watch 1 program and record 1 program on 1 Sonicview while my GF does the same on hers at the same time so we will need to be able to use the full functionality I think. My first question is just this, with the dpp44 switch and the power inserter it says I hook that to 1 receiver.. what do I do about the second rceiver since I only have 1 power inserter? Am I able to hook them up without the power inserter or does that need to be connected to just one receiver? I assume I just hook that up to 1 receiver to start? I run the 4 cables to the DPP44 switch on teh side that says satelite in, and then run the out to the receiver into the power inserter then that into the receiver directly. If I am incorrect please let me know. The cables only have about 25 feet to run to get from teh dish to teh TVs I am going to try my best to align this tomorrow and get it started being hooked up so any help is appreciated. I have a lot going on now and have had this stuff a coupel weeks not and no time to install. I did however get the dish mounted so that part is out of teh way. |

Re: Need help getting set up.
The above pictures will show you how to wire it up properly, except you would wire the 129W LNB to the bottom on the left side, which would be port 4. Notice the LNB ports labeled 2D and 1F, they correspond to where they go on the DPP44. Sorry, I thought I had a good graphic of a DPP44 switch, so when I get it, I will replace it above for you. Settings for the above wiring: Echo 7 119W LNB Power: On LNB Type: OCS-DP LNB Freq: 11250 22KHz: Off TP: 12239 (<- Change this to see Quality) DiSEqC: Port 1 Motor: Off Legacy SW: None Echo 8 110W LNB Power: On LNB Type: OCS-DP LNB Freq: 11250 22KHz: Off TP: 12224 DiSEqC: Port 2 Motor: Off Legacy SW: None (Not totally Positive on the below Anik F3 settings, this depends on the receiver) Anik F3 118.7W LNB Power: On LNB Type: Universal LNB Hi Freq: 11250 LNB Lo Freq: 10750 22KHz: Off TP: 11715 (<- Change this to see Quality) DiSEqC: Port 3 Motor: Off Legacy SW: None Echo 5 129W LNB Power: On LNB Type: OCS-DP LNB Freq: 11250 22KHz: Off TP: 12282 (<- Change this to see Quality) DiSEqC: Port 4 Motor: Off Legacy SW: None The power inserter would be wired to the Line going into Satellite IN Port 1, on the bottom left of the DPP44 switch, whichever line you use to run into the LNB system there from whichever receiver. The satellite IN at the bottom is where the receivers get wired to. It doesn't matter which wire goes where, except the power inserter has to be on the 1st one. Actually, I believe it is labeled that way on the bottom, it tells you which to connect the power inserter into, if I remember correctly. As you can also see, the LNBs all get wired in on the left side of the DPP44. Hope This Helps !!

Re: Need help getting set up.
You guys are awesome! By the way, the only thing different is my LNBs the 129 and 110 has 1 connection instead of to like shown, is that a problem?
By the way, the info you posted should get me all hooked up. Thank you a lot. |

Re: Need help getting set up.
No, you only need one output from them to the switch
