Helping Setting up! Step by Step

Sonic view Setup!!

I am having problems in getting local and pay-per-view channels (Disney, MTV, HBO, ShowTime, etc). In the guide in sonic view elite, it shows that I have a lot of channels but majority of them says they are scrambled, not viewable, no information, or even some of channels such as pay per view are not even available.
I have been on so many websites in learning how to setup the box and satellite but I was not able to succeed. I decided to take pictures of each step that I have done in order for people to take a look and correct my mistakes. This also can be a tutorial for people who just getting started.
Step 1: Setup Satellite

I believe this is the Dish Pro 500 twin LNBF. Reviewing many websites, they all say that if it is a Dish Pro 500, it would say Pro. When I asked a friend, they said this is a pro version. Not sure…

Step: Connecting wires to the LNBF. I use A-1 and B-2 slots to connect directly to the sonic view Elite.

Connecting the wires from the LNBF to the black wires is just connecting it directly to my box. That is all it is.

Setting Up the Sonic View Elite Box.
I connected the two black wires to the IF A-Input & IF B-Input . To send the signal to the box.
When I turned on the T.V., I went to the USB screen to load the following bins & roms files.
· SV360Elite_SysCleanFile.rom
· SV360 Elite SAT File.sat
· SV360Elite_Factory_V0111.bin
· SV360Elite_V0186P_Charlieblackout_Fixed010809.rom
Of course, each time you load one of these files, the box must shutdown and stay off for at least 10 seconds.
After completing this stage it is all about setting up the satellite.
I went to the Satellite installation page.

I entered in the codes up above. You notice something on the right hand side. It say EchoStar 8,X (110.0), but on the left side, I selected EchoStar 7 as the satellite. I am not sure why this is happening.

I change the Transponder from 12224 for Satellite EchoStar 7, and my quality in the signal went straight to zero, and the signal went from 73 to 43. Not good.

I selected find satellite for transponder 12224 & 12339 for EchoStar 7 (119.0), I get more channels using the transponder 12224. The results are pretty much the same each time I scan. I always receive a Failed scan.
My very first test with this box, I was only being able to get 20 channels, that barely even worked, and I received radio channels. Now, each time I do a scan, I never received any radio channels.
Can anyone help me to get my box up and running. I tried many attempts and viewed many forums and youtube clips. I still receive the same results.

Re: Helping Setting up! Step by Step

Hallo and welcome, very interesting thread and good pictures, but Im afraid most people are off line now so you may have to wait for tpmorrow for in depth help, but almost all channels have gone to NAG3 now, that is why you are getting scrambled channels.

Nag3 FULL LIST OF CHANNELS GONE, updated 24th June 2009

List Of Channels Currently Working as of 6-24-09

Re: Helping Setting up! Step by Step

One thing I noticed is your dish needs to be realigned, you have it set for 119. If you look up in the right hand corner your pointing at 110. So put your TP on 12239 and realign your dish so it says 119 in the top right hand corner..

Re: Helping Setting up! Step by Step

Thanks guys for giving me some input. I did readjust the SAT and bam.. When I scanned, I received all channels, everything comes up on the screen. BIG PROBLEM though, only one channel works out like over 500 or something. I also got radio channels, not sure how to check to see if they work.

Am I missing something here? How can I get all of these channels to work. They all say,"No service, or Scrambled, (Even local channels.)
