Is this the only sat you're trying to pick up or are there other birds and other dishes in the setup? Tell more about your setup and you will get more specific help. Is the single lnb dtv your only dish? If so it sounds like you may not have it locked onto 129W. With that dish it will be a bit harder than others to lock on. S.Bob |

Re: help with 129w
Be sure to use TP 12282 to find the signal from 129W.
One word about TP numbers, you cannot save them in the antenna setup. You can only temporarily change it to see the 129W signal. An you may be able to use the 18" dish, depends where you are located. Good Luck !!

Re: help with 129w
Its always recomended when you're trying to tune in a sat, use a straight thru wire. Take out the switch & barrel 129 to the wire to the stb. It will eliminate any false signals while trying to tune in the sat.

Re: help with 129w
Where are you located? Do you have any obstructions in that direction? Have you tried a few degrees either side of the posted setting?

Re: help with 129w
I just reread your original post. I notice that you have 99% strength. If you are indeed locked into 129w, doing as Woodcreeker said should have found some quality. Some TPs are not transmitting. By changing the TPs in your settings while searching, you should find some transmitting with that signal strength. The same thing happened with 119 when the first TP on the list quit transmitting.

Re: help with 129w
Trans freq 11250, lnb type standard or universal, TP 12282. Are you tying to site in this sat without having the other sats plugged in?

Re: help with 129w
Are you running straight from lnb to youre receiver as satman suggested? How bout transponder 12282 as woodcreeker recommended? This should get you quality when aligning youre dish!..

Caniac, that dish will get anything that a circular sat has to offer.

Re: help with 129w
I believe he is using the wrong TP as boboisno1 suggested.
Use TP 12282 and a barrel connector as satman99 suggested. If you use a switch, then if you have the switch setting incorrect, you will never find it. Causes some frustration. Using a straight connection and no switch settings is the best way to find it. Here is a pic ... Notice you found 110W. If you drop down around 4 elevations, and move to the West a little, you will find 119W. You will only see a signal on 119W on TP 12239. So, if you know where 110W is, 129W is about 6 elevations lower, and a little more to the West than 119W is. Again, 129W will have to be on TP 12282. See the satellite signal only shows because both these satelltes 119W and 129W do not broadcast anything on the Default TP 12224. Keep in mind you cannot save TP numbers (transponders). This is a system area only. Once you see the Quality, a satellite name appears somewhere on your screen. That has to match what you are aiming for. Then just adjust it subtly for the highest Quality signal you can get there. Then later, connect the 129W dish to say a DiSEqC switch to Port 3, then go into the settings for 129W, change the DiSEqC setting in there to Port 3, change the TP to 12282 to see the signal, and you should be good to go.
