Stuck In Dolby Digital - No Sound??

Anyone else have the same problem on the HD channels? When testing them there is no option to go just standard surround and if you don't have a DD reciever to decode, then you got no audio?

Some of the channels you can change it by pressing LANG and then selecting ENG...but the majority of all HD are defaulted there right now with no ENG option and can't be heard.

Re: Stuck In Dolby Digital - No Sound??

Well I've looked around for you and apparently Dish Network does not adhere to blue book Dolby Digital transmission standards. Or there could be a problem with your receiver.

No, this happens when testing the Bev side HD as well. I guess it must just be me if there aren't a ton of people complaining. But I had read elsewhere of a few others having the same issue.

I suppose it worth a shot reloading the bin and such. Just don't wanna go through the pain of rescanning all those birds...lol

Just a thought but do you have a fiber optic cable input to youre tv? Have you tried this?

Re: Stuck In Dolby Digital - No Sound??

I have ran into this before and using the fiber optic cable from receiver to ss or tv has fixed this for me.AC3 audio.Don`t know if it will work in youre case but it`s worth a shot.

Yeah that's the problem...no fiber optic input. Just using the factory speakers on the TV. Pioneer's got some wicked side mounts for needs at least. ;-)

Guess I'll try to reload the bin and see what happens.

Re: Stuck In Dolby Digital - No Sound??

Use the RCA audio outputs, if your tv doesn't let you use analog audio inputs with HDMI switch over to component video. Hopefully this will be fixed in the next bin.
