pansat 3500 no power

can somebody help. I uploaded 343 bin onto the 3500 pansat. The set worked for a day or two then it froze. I turned of the back of the unit and then on; but now the unit will not turn on. Is this known to happen, and is there anything I can do to the unit.

Help

Re: pansat 3500 no power

I have the same problem too. My first one went dead and never came back to life. Now the second one is having problem with low signal. When I tried with 2700a, my signal would be up to the 90s. With the 3500, I wouldn't get any signal or they are in the low 30s. Basically, I can not watch anything. I did flashed it with original bins, many times, nothing changed on both of them. It seems this model is not that good at all.

Re: pansat 3500 no power

A parallel connection. He means the JTAG cable gets connected to the parallel port with a JTAG cable to bring it back to life. These receivers may have a more serious problem. You do have to open up the cover. Check the capacitors near the power supply. If they look swollen, they are bad, or blowing, or blown. I will post a picture and give you more directions. You will have to go and get new capacitors at a radio shack and solder them in. It is not that hard, just 2 wires to solder, and there is only 1 thing you can do wrong, solder them in backwards. They are clearly marked positive(+) and negative(-). Capacitors have a big stripe on one side that tells you which way is the negative.

Wait a bit for pictures.

Re: pansat 3500 no power

I've had the same issue with my 3500sd, and it turns out it was C11 (capacitor 11) on the power supply board. It went out on me during re-flashing so i initially thought the BIN file had something to do with it.

I also had Issues with picture quality on some channels, but after replacing C13 everything's fine there too.

C13 looked bad (bulging at the top and bottom), but C11 looked fine visually.
Only reason I changed C11 is because couple of other people said they had issues with it. Turns out - that was it.

BTW, C11 is 1000 uF(mico-farad) 10V and C13 is 470uF 16V.
