FTA Question the channels are dark

Hi: I have problems viewing the channels from the 110 and some channels are darker than others. I already changed the lnb and the switch. I verify if it was the tv with a cd viewer and is ok. The sat quality is over 80%. jaiglo...

Re: the channels are dark

how do you connect the receiver to the TV?
when you say dark, is it dark like unable or hard to watch?
what kind of TV do you have?

Re: the channels are dark

Sounds like a TV thang not a receiver issue. Never know.

Re: the channels are dark

Menu -> User Setup -> TV Type - is this set to Auto ?? (use right button, follow directions on the screen)

The PAL setting is for European TVs. The NTSC setting is for American TVs. If it's on Auto, it should be okay.

How is it hooked up? The 3 wire yellow, red, white gives a better picture than a coax cable from the TV Out. Check connections first. You may have a bad cable, you could try a different cable.

Get back to us and post your results.

The connection I used is s-video. First, I have it via the 3 cables (yellow, white, and red) but I change it to s-video. And the dark is like hard to watch, evrything looks darker. Some channels are more lighter than others.

Re: the channels are dark

When you watch the DVD, how is it hooked up to your TV? If that worked fine through your s-video cable from the DVD player, there is something funny going on with the Pansat, definately.

If you hooked up the DVD player by yellow, red, white, then you might have a menu setting in the TV to find and adjust.

Re: the channels are dark

yea thats odd as i believe S-video has the color correction and level information as part of the signal. have you followed woodcreekers config advice above?
