New Bin File Pansat 201 Full EMU - Problems Solved 2700A 2700E 2700 2500A 2500

Problem: Receiver keeps rebooting. (2700A)
You cannot shut it OFF once the new file is installed.
To cure this, write an older file (i.e 2.98 or 2.99)
Or write the 201 file again and DO NOT turn the receiver power OFF.

Problem: Rolling PUFF on display. (2500A)
You cannot turn the power OFF once the file is loaded.
To cure this, write an older file (i.e 2.98 or 2.99) PUFF rolling will stop.
Or write the 201 file again and DO NOT turn the receiver power OFF.

Problem: Scrambled or Bad Channel error. (2500A or 2700A)
You will need to Factory Reset and resetup and rescan channels.

Problem: No Signal error. (2500A or 2700A)
You will need to Factory Reset and resetup and rescan channels.


Blind Scan Instructions

The new 201 Full EMU bin file will not work if you use your old channels. I have tried and comfirmed this. Also it can cause Echo 8.10/Ku to show no signal. If you think the file is bad, change satellites and you will find out it does work. This could explain why 61.5W is not working, too, and others. Factory Reset first. Reload the bin and keep the receiver powered On and manually set the satellites back up, then blind scan the channels in one satellite at a time.

Blind Scans are the recommended scan method for these receivers.

Write down all your antenna settings before you do a Factory Reset and always keep your settings in a safe place. Some tuck the paper they are written on in their User Manual.

Setup each satellite, Exit, Ok to Save on each one.

Notes:
To see Quality on Echo 6.8/Ku or 8.10/Ku (same satellite) default TP [1] 12224 V 20.000
To see Quality on Echo 7/Ku change the TP to [2] 12239 V 20.000 (119W)
To see Quality on Echo 3/Ku change the TP to [6] 12297 V 20.000 or [8] 12236 V 20.000 (61.5W)
To see Quality on Echo 5/Ku change the TP to [5] 12282 V 20.000 (129W)

Go down to blind scan, and blind scan each satellite once, seperately.

This file is working, and all later releases will probably do the same thing until you do this resetup and rescan procedure. A later file release will cure the problem with turning it Off. Try a long extension cord if your computer is too far from your TV, temporarily. Or, hope you have a friend with a Laptop with a serial port or a USB To Serial Adapter.

Other settings, set your Time Zone to your area. Summer Time OFF.

Renumber Local CH, enter City / State and Save.

Hit the SAT button and select Echostar Package. A box will pop up, select any channel there. This will place all channels in the proper provider order.

You should be good to go now.

I have a rolling PUFF across my 2500A from the latest 201 bin file. I have tried flashing bin files 298, 299 and 201 again, including a hard flash(turning the power button off/on). Does anyone bother to check these corrupt files before they are posted? Obviously not! Any suggestions or should I add three more 2500s to the junk pile in my closet.

If your receiver is not by the computer, soon as download is complete and you see the first" P " turn the receiver OFF...
Then hook it up and power it on but don't turn it OFF again or it will go to rolling PUFF.

We are trying to help you guys get something running for now.
We ahve no control over the files that are made. We just as testers give you advice and try to help you work with the problems some files have.

Anyway, the Fwank7 file allows you to turn it OFF, so you can reconnect it later.

for 2700A I loaded first 2700A_VIRGIN_B75_121_api_1 and then
xbl_081207_b75_210 and have no problem.

I download you recent file but I still have PUFF running in my pansat front.

As I understand I have to made a Reset Factory, I<m sorry but I<m new to this, and I dont know how to do it,

For all you people that have problems with the PUFF rolling thing this is a possible soulution and it helped me.

1.Turn your receiver and write/download at the first P.
2.Wait for it to finish then when the ( | ) appears and starts rolling PUFF at the end when it ends with a F take the lug off do not turn it off at the back.
3.Hook it onto your T.V

But, when i hook it on my T.V it doesn't work.It's just a Scrambled.Then when i blind scanned it the picture looks black nothing there

ok this is my problem .. after the last bin went down it started showing me NO SIGNAL .. and I read here that I should restore factory settings, I saved my antenna setup setting and restored the factory setting. but now:

I couldn't find two satellites that were on the list before, ECHO 8.6/Ku and T-5/ku

I found two of the satellites I wanted ECHO 7/Ku and ECHO 3/Ku , but TP was different.
my old TP was 11000 H 7.000 but now it starts at 12225

I am using Standard LNP type and I have never done this before, somebody set it up for me when I purchased this.

I am using a 2700A, I used the X-87BL_081207_B75_V201_api_femu.bin, reset to factory and blind scanned all my satellites, the receiver works, but I can not read from nor write to the receiver with the serial port. Have you had this problem? El_Viejo

I guess I am assuming you are trying to use Channel Master here.

Maybe that was disabled in this bin, I cannot be sure. I stopped writing channel lists to receivers many years ago, as the channels are moved around so constant. I am scanning right now, actually....

Once you get used to scanning your own receiver, it is the best way to go.

Yes, I am using Channel Master. However, I tried to rewrite the 201 bin and it would not connect. It gave me an error message. So as it stands, in the future when there is an upgrade bin, it looks like I will not be able to even load that new file. It looks like at this time that I may have to JTAG the receiver. El_Viejo

What is a factory reset also when i put the file and i eventually stopped the puff to roll.Then i did a scan for the channel after that i did a blind scan and still nothing was fixed.

What I did, that worked quite well, on both 2500a and 2700 ...
I had the last bin file loaded (299), I loaded the new one, and with the 2700 did a normal channel scan, worked like normal... with the 2500a (three of them actually as a friend was lost and asked me down) they did not even have to scan channels, just worked ... all channels up... no problems....

I think if you load the older file, then scan and all, then reload the 201 in my experience it should be fine...

Keep in mind that when the ECM hit and the boxes went down I went right from the working file 299 to the 201... so channels were already scanned on the 2500 due to it not starting from the beginning loading (eg when it says English when you turn it on and all...) the 2700 the same, 299 was loaded and then loaded the 201.... but with the 2700 the scan on both sats went normal...

Keep in mind as well that once the bin is loaded you can not power down... the instructions are quite clear on that....

but yeah... after loading one 2700 and 3 2500a's I can say it is not that big of a deal... they all work quite fine....

Guess what...just now formated and installed XP

Just for the FTA

Then went thru normal cycle of geting loader, files and YES, setting up the CH340 usb cable Drivers!!!

Damn...that was a hack of a night....

After upgrade to this 201 file, its working fine without any original boot or hard reset. I just did NORMAL upgrade.
