older pantec box

Is there anything out yet (bin)for an older pantec box? Wanting to buy a new box but not sure what I want. Only thing I know is I want a newer box under 150 bucks if all posible since I'm still a green horn to all this.

This is the only fix/conversion info I can find on your box. The link is provided in Woodcreekers post on here,
pantec 2500a

However as you are inexperienced I would advise not to try this by yourself, wait until a guru comes on line here to talk you through it. I see you tried to get help on here 2 months ago. Please dont be nervous about asking lots of questions, it is the only way to learn, but sometimes you might have to wait a while to get a reply from a guru or a very experienced member. If your thread goes off the main page, just keep boosting it by asking for help so it gets noticed when the gurus come on line.

You could also look on here, Buy and Sell section. I believe recently 2 members were selling their receivers. From what I have read, Coolsat and Pansat owners seem to suffer the most. The best seems to be Sonic and Viewsat.

Well Speedy thats great and thank you for helping to keep this site going. Sometimes the donations take a couple of days to get through then your name will change and you will become a VIP member with lots of extras.

The Sonicview Premier and the Viewsat Ultra seem to be the most recommended. Check out Woodcreekers and Whitefish advice on here;

help i want to go a diffferent route other than cs7100pvr

Take a look on ebay and amazon, you will find a lot of dealers on there with a few good offers. Let us know how you get on.

Re: older pantec box

Rather than getting the Viewsat Ultra Lite, I would get the Viewsat Ultra V2 model instead. You can find the Ultra V2 on eBay for around $125 these days. The smaller units, like the Viewsat Ultra Lite, have problems with heat dissipation, as they are smaller. If you confident you can keep the smaller units cool, get one, or else I would get the full fledged Viewsat Ultra V2.

The reason we are asking is because we are a small site and all expenses are out of pocket. In order to maintain and keep the site running it costs lots of money for server costs, maintenance, etc. It's more than one can be obligated to pay and we hope you can find it in your hearts to help support this site so we can continue to give you great support.
