Latest Bin File Flashing Tips - Advice 9/4/07
Light Warning Regarding New Bin File Flash Releases I hope everyone practices safe programming with these latest bins. Your first clue is the bin files are larger in size (KB) than the last bin. This is usually a great BIG HINT that you SHOULD NOT simply flash the new bin over the last one. Problems from overwriting large bins can range from channels missing, satellite setups gone, satellites missing from satellite list, to receivers not working again. Safe Programming Tips 1 - Perform Factory Reset (factory default, factory setting, database reset, database default) Before doing this, be SURE all antenna (dish) settings are written down if you do NOT already know them. 2 - Write Default Bin. (This is not necessarily the original factory bin...ie a Pansat 3500 with b-80 upgrade will use the b-80 default bin) If you are not sure which file you need for this, just ask in your receiver forum. 3 - Factory Reset (yes, AGAIN) 4 - New Bin file flash can be safely applied now. 5 - Setup Satellites and scan channels. (After, change time zone, remap locals, etc.) 6 - Allow keys to roll in. 7 - Watch tv. If you prepare and write new bin files this way everytime, you should not experience problems! Enjoy!!
