Re: iHub CHAT and HELP discussions
This is terrible I am begining to wonder myself whereI am at. the ihub has never worked even with the 206. the wiznet is downloaded but does nothing. I put the 1.4 on the receiver with the memory stick. I beleve this to be a mistake. I cannot get wiznet to do anything. and I have never got anything on the ihub except the numbers I put on the rest have never appeared I think thats about it I have a cat 5 cable between the comp and ihub. and made the computer share, but did not do the other part. I had tv fantastic ubder the old system, but nothing seems to be working since. someone set up the ihub for me, though it did not work after he had done it, he said it would eventualy, now he has vanished and I am one my own, well except for you guys. and I am getting no where fast. sorry to be such a pain. it is so frustrating. another one of you folks said if the ipconfig says not ready it means the ihub is not true!!! but the likes rae on at the when plugged in. does this all make sence?

Re: iHub CHAT and HELP discussions
the 209 is on the receiver. the 1.4 I put on but not via the computer. my mistake. now its seems you need a router to get it back , and walmart says the router will not work with dial up too slow. I think thats about it in a nutshell. never has worked, I am wondering if its the ihub. who knows.

Re: iHub CHAT and HELP discussions
Putting wiznet on the thumb drive was a mistake. You need to run the cat5 cable from your pc to the ihub (connected to receiver) then open up wiznet on your PC and click on search. Does the wiz configuration tool populate? what version is it showing in the top left corner.

Re: iHub CHAT and HELP discussions
Sounds like your PC is not communicating with the hub. If your using windows click on start button, go to connect to and click on show all connections. Right click your dialup connection then click properties. Under advanced tab make sure the top box and second box down are checked under internet connection sharing. Also make sure your windows firewall is turned off. then try a search again with wiznet.

Hopefully beeker or someone will be able to help you out. Have you ran the network setup wizard on your PC? The wizard should find your network hardware then click on next (if your cable is not connected click the ignore disconnected network hardware). Check the top box (this computer connects directly to the internet) click next. once your dialup is selected click next. check the top box Local area connection. click next and type in whatever name you choose click next and type whatever name you want click next and click top box turn off file and printer sharing click next and apply these network settings. Hope this helps some.

Re: iHub CHAT and HELP discussions
Hi Spider123, I am hopeing you will be coming back on line soon. I did the above everytime it says 'an error occured doing confugration of the network on the computer' interestingly the firewall turns back on and is enabled everytime too. But stays off othertimes.

Re: iHub CHAT and HELP discussions
Hi again Desertbuster, I see you're still having trouble. The easiest way for you to sort this out is to follow the instructions provided in the thread I posted earlier. Like I said before you are going to need a router to do this but it is fool-proof. it will work everytime. Like spyder has suggested you will need to setup internet connection sharing but if your iHub isn't on 1.4 it's useless. You NEED to do what it suggests in this post, then worry about your connection to the internet.
Used Wiznet, uploaded wrong BIN, now not recognizing IHUB

Re: iHub CHAT and HELP discussions
Are you saying that a wireless router will work? other people say direct connection works, but then I can't fix the problem with your wrong bin info.

Re: iHub CHAT and HELP discussions
Yeah because you will never get to the step where you need the router. I wish I had more options for you but this is the only thing I know will work for sure. I know there is a way to use a router to setup a dial up connection though, along the same line as internet connection sharing.
Any router you can plug into will work for sure. If the connection between your computer and the router is wireless, it will work for sure. If the connection between the ihub and the router is wireless, it might not work.
