I downloaded the wiznet again still no 1.4 or 82

okay something new, I just touch the wire from the receiver to the computer and the ihub/receiver made a noise. the cable is on t he floor running about 10 feet. do I have a bad ihub or cable . the ihub is not very secure

Thanks for all your help guys, I have to go now, please post any help you can. I will be back in about 2 hours. Should I start over? You are doing a great job. before this "problem" pre ihub everything was just great. ah well, just have to keep trying. :-) :-)

The noise was the sound system, not the ihub.that I have to fix now.lol

the ihub light is on a solid green. if there is anyway you can help Ireally would appreciate it.

How can I be sure that the receiver is actualy connected to the computer. how can I check for this. thanks

Here's what I'd try.

Check the either net cable you're using. Or try a different one.

Power everything off. Turn on the TV. Install the hub and either net cable.
Fire up the 360 with the switch in the back.
Watch the TV. It should say "Adapter Connected".

If it does not, check your either net cable with a laptop or something and make sure you can get on the internet.

If your internet connection is fine and you're not seeing "Adapter Connected", I think you'll have to start from scratch with that link Beaker sent you! You will need a router of some sort.

Do you see the yellow/brown light? If not I bet you have a faulty internet connection. I'll bet the green means the hub sees power.

You can test this by unpluging the either net cable going to your computer and plug it straight into the hub.

OK. I need a router, if I go to Walmart, what do I need to get, I understand they differ. what kind do I need.

D-Links or Linksys are nice, I haven't really tried many others. Almost any router will do what you want it to do. Wireless is nice if you have a laptop.

There should be 2 little lights. On green one orange, so that sounds fine.

What you want is a eithernet broadband router.

Here is the list I took from the sonicview hub page.

- WRT54GX4 wireless router with 2 Netgear power line HD Ethernet adapters.

Okay then you're almost there. load version 245 to the 360.

Go to menu
IP config
set the following
DHCP
Use DNS Yes
Domain svftalks.com
Server port 1920
Serial number (on the hub itself)

That should do it.

I think that means your connection is valid. Go to my other post about doing the IP config.
