Recent Ihub news (freezing issue)
c/p : (07/07)
As many members have noticed as of lately, the channels have in fact been freezing every few mins for a few seconds at a time. Not to worry, this has nothing to do with any kind of ECM, and all will be sorted out soon so that things may return to normal. You might also have noticed that additional channels have been added if you look through (while the freezing resides), you will see that a couple are added daily. Slowly but surely tv will return to normal. Patience is key. Channel freezing is due to the following: The server that was originally put in to place has a huge server load as of right now. Currently we are trying to figure out the issue and get it straightened out, there is a constant connection of around 20,000 active IP addresses/serial numbers-iHub connections. Every time a user changes channels it is sending a request to the server which causes the server to lag and the server thinks that another active connection has been made, even when it hasn't. So instead of 1 active connection, it basically turns in to an average of 4 max active connections per ip/serial (mainly when a users changes channels to one that isin't added yet). So basically with 20,000 users connected, the server is tricked in to thinking that there are 80,000 active connections. This is the cause of the server lag and freezing. So this is the issue at hand and is being looked in to and fixed. This started occuring with the new release, but like I said it is being looked in to. Just give it some time and please don't complain in the mean time, it makes it hard to concentrate

Thanks as always for a heads up Beeker !
I noticed than on DN the HD channels that do come in on 110/119 have no audio. I also noticed that on Nimiq many of the sd channels that come in have no audio there as well. Just my observations, and I know this is constantly being tweaked !! |
