Printable instructions for iHUB
Printable instructions for iHUB
c/p I've been reading a few forums now that if you're installing an iHUB, the newer models in particular.... All you have to do is Part I 1. Load that latest file for your particular STB... 360 P = 245 Beta 360 E = 209 Beta 8000HD = 462 Beta 1a. Reboot 1b. Switch STB off using back switch 2. Connect iHUB according to instructions(see bottom of page for instructions) to the back of your STB(disregard Wiznet, etc..just do the connecting part...) 2a. Reboot...actually, just turn the STB back on using back switch. 3. Check to see if you have IP Config....more than likely you should have gotten a message saying you were connected to the network right after you rebooted. If you did get that message, leave it on channel 200 for aleast 2 minutes. If you don't get TV, go to step 3a. 3a. On STB go to Menu>PVR>Network Download and click OK on your remote. Wait until it finishes doing what it needs to do, You will get a S/W download fail message, that's OK, just give it a few seconds and you will be taken back to the Main menu. 3b. While in Menu, go to Settings>Ip Config 3c. Change your settings to this: Setting Type: Static Local IP: Leave it alone(router should set this for you) Local Port: 80 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: Leave it alone(router should set this for you) Use DNS: No Server IP: 77.93.75.89 or 77.93.75.89 DNS IP: Same as Gateway(router should set this for you) Server Port: 1920 Serial Number: Whatever your serial is Click Apply, leave it on channel 200 for a bit and you should be watching TV...if no TV after 2 minutes, If you're not up and running at this point, go to Part II. Part II This is for XP users, Vista might be a little different but if you know your PC, the concept is the same... 1. On your PC, click... a. Start>Run>cmd(you have to type cmd in the box and click OK) b. You will get a MS-DOS Box Popup, After the > enter this: ipconfig/all c. You will get all kinds of info, just skip down to "IP Address" d. Write down what you have for IP Address and Default Gateway. 2. Take the settings you wrote from the ipconfig/all step and open IP Config in your STB Menu, insert the following: a. Take what you wrote down for IP Address and put it in Local IP but you will need to change the last number. For example, if you wrote down 192.168.1.100, insert 192.168.1.102. If you wrote down 192.168.2.2, insert 192.168.2.4, etc...(always add 2 to the last number) b. Take what you wrote down for Default Gateway IP from your PC settings and insert it exactly as you wrote it in Gateway IP in IP Config. c. Click apply. If you followed the instructions here and in Part I and if you insert the IP settings correctly as instructed, you should now be able to watch TV. If after you do all of this, you're still not up and running, go to Part III Part III 1. Download Wiznet and extract the files to a folder, name the folder, New iHUB files a. Setup Wiznet on your PC. b. Once you have Wiznet setup, run the program. c. In wiznet, Click on the search button at the bottom of the page. d. Take note of the Version box on the top left hand corner. If it is 1.4, close Wiznet and start a thread asking for assistance or try step 3 below. If it doesn't say 1.4, go to Step 2. 2. Download the 1.4 iHUB file to the folder(new iHUB Files) where you downloaded your Wiznet files, extract the file into the same folder. a. Open Wiznet b. Click Search Button, let it finish loading and Click Close. c. Click Upload Button, look for the extracted 1.4 bin file, be extra careful to make sure it is the bin file and not the zip file. d. Once you have located the 1.4 bin file, click Open, wait for the file to finish uploading. Click OK or Close if prompted. e. Exit Wiznet. f. Open Wiznet again. g. Click Search. h. You should now have Version 1.4 If so leave Wiznet open and go to Step 3. 3. Retrieve the settings you wrote down from Part II Step 1. and in Wiznet do the following: a. In Network Tab, set IP Configuration to Static b. Insert what you wrote for IP address(from PC) in Local IP. c. Set Local IP port setting to 80 d. Subnet should be 255.255.255.0 e. Insert what you wrote for Gateway IP(from your PC) in Gateway here in Wiznet. f. Skip PPPoE ID and Password, in Server IP type in 77.93.75.89 or 77.93.75.115 g. Set Server IP Port setting to 1920 h. Set Operation Mode to Mixed i. Use DNS should be unchecked j. Direct Ip Search should be unchecked h. Click Setting, when uploading is done, if prompted, click OK or Close. Make sure yo are on Channel 200 and you should be watching TV in a few seconds. If not start a thread asking for help All these steps were tested using a Sonicview 360 Premier, some were tested using a virgin STB some with a STB having been running on Nag 2, some were used with new model iHUB, some with original iHUB model. In all these tests, the iHUB was connected directly to the router via ehternet cable. How to connect your iHUB: 1. Make sure STB is turned of from the back switch. 2. Take one end of ethernet cable and connect to iHUB. 3. Connect iHUB to back of STB.make sure it is secure, if possible use a male to female serial adapter* 4. Connect othr end of ethernet cable to your router.
