Re: Ihub not working
The ihub is not really working right now.
Check channel 100 to know if you have things set right. |

Re: Ihub not working
Thanks for the help. I have tried the new setup DCHP and now I can't get my wiznet to connect...what does that mean? Something is not right...no channel 100 either...
I really appreciate the help folks! |

Re: Ihub not working
you don't need wiznet if your ihub is alread ver 1.4
wiznet is to flash the ihub. When I first set mine up I had to plug it directly into my modem. Then after the first link up it worked with the router. |

Re: Ihub not working
Hey, you should be getting 100 and 216 even if the ihub server is down, they are fta. Beeker is the man to help you maybe he will come on line and give you the heads up.

Re: Ihub not working
I hub is working as normal here, only froze twice all evening, maybe try rebooting and make sure you hit apply in your settings,if your not getting ion then its not your ihub.
some channels are taking at least a minute to come in.. Just my 2cents worth...Tile. testing..SV8000HD |

Re: Ihub not working
Your router may be blocking the connection, you might have to adjust your firewall.
As for Wiznet don't even attempt to flash if you are already running v1.4. The last thing you want to do is to mess up and have the dreaded v82. Then you will need the help of someone like Beeker to get it back to v1.4. Many people have given up trying do to the frustration!

Re: Ihub not working
Thanks folks. I can see how frustrating this is now. I am sure once it works its great but right now...it sucks. There seems to be a lot of variables.
I have adjusted my 2701HG-G modem/router to allow ports 80 and 1920 to be open. The one thing I am a little confused with (well one of many) is the IP address on the Ihub. It obviously can;t match an existing IP in used on my network , so I read somewhere to just bump the last number on address by 2... is that sufficient? Also when I run wiznet, just for fun, not flashing or anything. Sometimes it say connected on the top right hand conrner and other time not. Does that mean anything? Finally, I think I am connected to the server cause I read somewhere else that you can check if it is connected to the server by first typing the DNS ww w .svft... and so on and applying. Then by going back and switching DNS off, the proper 77.93.75.89 or 115 should pop up in its place...rather then 0.0.0.0. It this is true then I am connected I am just not getting anything... Sorry for the mass confusion...just getting fruistrated now. Thanks for eveyones help! |

Re: Ihub not working
Something really simple that stopped me getting started with the ihub, is it enabled. lol on the computer. Also the ihub lettering is very small and can be misread. it has to be acurate to work, but if no 216, then like already posted its not the ihub. you probably need Beeker and start over sometimes its works to begin at the begining as its easy to miss something.
It took me a while as I have dial up which complicated things, we got there and it is worth it. also quite a high when it eventualy works. |

Re: Ihub not working
let me give you some working ip config numbers
static 192 168 0 2 1920 255 255 255 0 192 168 0 1 no 77 93 75 89 dns 192 168 0 101 1920 your ihub numbers (check twice to be sure) apply These may not be for you but may give you a clue as to how they should look to work. Also because I am going direct into the modem I have to use a split cable not regular. otherwise wait until beeker comes on line and he will I am sure run you through it good luck |

Re: Ihub not working
Just to let you know I am new at this too, but am having fun learning. anyway if you don't have 216 or 100 you might want to sort that first ie make sure you have latest file downloaded into your reciever and you may need to re scan. woodcreeker has a sure way of scaning which works good.

Re: Ihub not working
The thing about it sometimes being connected and sometimes not is an issue I had as well.
I found that I have to plug the ihub in and then plug in the net cable. I really only had trouble connecting the first time. I plugged directly into the modem to the Ihub could ditect my proxy. once it had them it has been trouble free. (even with router) The only way I get the nassa channle it with the ihub connected so if you are seeing it then you have a connection with sv iks site. I can't help you with wiznet. I never messed with it. |

Re: Ihub not working
Hey Jbird lets start from the top. To make sure your ihub is 1.4 you should fire up wiznet one last time. If it says 1.4 in the ver then we should be good to go from there. Delete wiznet you shouldn't need it anymore.
Next we need to make sure you have the newest bin loaded. You need 209 for the Elite, 245 for the premier and 462 for the 8000. Make sure you have the right bin loaded for your receiver. After that is done go into ipconfig and make sure your setting type is set to DHCP and where it says DNS, it should say yes with the url www.svftaiks.com underneath. The last thing you need to be sure of is the bottom line should have the serial from your hub inputted into it. If that's not there it will not work. So check all those things are correct and leave it on a encrypted channel you know should work (NICK, HIST, SPIKE are good) see if it comes up. If it doesn't let me know and we'll see if we can sniff out the problem. Making sure that these things are right will solve 90% of problems. Don't worry too much about router settings as that's usually a last resort.
