FTA Post SV4000 & SV1000Pvr

Since i do not test this can not be called BITCHING, simply a observation.

It seems suspicious to me.

All the Sonicview files came out Except the Two Units that Have Newer SV Models Competing with them.

SV1000 - They Figure if a person is CHEAP ENOUGH and still using this box, they wont spend extra cash even when the SV4000 came out they didnt , so no reason to Withhold a file there no Money in it. File Released

SV8000HD -
No current other HD SV Model exist so no money in withholding that file. File Released

SV 360 Premier - Low End Priced Competitor box of the SV4000. File Released

SV 360 Elite - Higher end priced Competitor to both the SV4000 and the SV1000PVR. File Released.

SV 1000PVR - If People are Happy still with Support and performance, they will not feel a need to Upgrade to a Newer Unit. File Not Released

SV 4000 - If people are Happy still with support and performance, they will not feel a need to upgrade to a newer Unit. - File Not Released

Thus changing the users opinion about their current box.

I think that Even if they release the files now even before i get this message typed that This would be able to drum up sales for the NEWER models.

That's right i said it. You may not feel this way but i sure as hell have a right to my opinion. There is no doubt that the Support is there for Sonicview THEY KNOW how to get it done and fast. so it seems funny to me that this is happening now. Maybe one last sales push before N3 makes Everyone go black for a little bit. Its working too just look at how many angry people are saying its time to buy a different Box.

So this is just my Unbiased Opinion From a NON TESTER

Sonicview want to prove me wrong? I'M a Gadget Whore Feel free to PM Me with Your Free SV 360 Testing offer and arrange shipping, and i will retract this message and become a tester again and im sure even write you a great review.

Re: SV4000 & SV1000Pvr

WOW...

I thought I was the only one who thought things like this. I hope Jeff Foxworthy isn't reading this (or I might be a Redneck...LOL)

I sincerely think all the manufacturers will stop suppressing files, as Coolsat sticks out of the mud on this subject.

Supposedly, the Sonicview Camp are rewriting all their files so less files are needed between ECMs. Pansat, CNX and others are using an Emulation based fix, and they can keep on running through the datastream changes like a Timex, they will keep right on ticking. Sonicview is working on this now so less bin file releases are needed when the datastream changes.

That is the word behind the scenes, anyway, from what I can gather.

That coupled with bogus Majic Board sites seems altogether strange as well.

The great thing about this hobby, is, the exitcement never stops in FTA.

It is fun once you start getting into the trials and tribulations... isn't it Acid ??

The reason we are asking is because we are a small site just starting out and all expenses are out of pocket. In order to maintain and keep the site running it costs lots of money for server costs, maintenance, etc. It's more than one can be obligated to pay and we hope you can find it in your hearts to help support this site so we can continue to give you great support.

Re: SV4000 & SV1000Pvr

Update from HYPERCURE

c/p Nov 22 9AM EST

The 4000 and 1000pvr files were released to the test team ,
and decision was made to not release because of freezing , they
are being redone . The 1000 bin has some freezing that showed
up after the test or it probably would have been held also .THe
rest of the files willbe posted when they are done .

I would still expect some great file support for that receiver model. Since it sounds like you just jumped into the game, here, hang tight there, be patient. Expect some downtime for the Nagra3 changeover coming in a couple of months, if you are testing DN, too. That is when there will be some concern. When you are down, generally, everyone is down. The coders will get the new files going.

Re: SV4000 & SV1000Pvr

I read on a different site that files for the SV4000, SV1000PVR and possibly a new one for the SV1000 should be out by morning.

Re: SV4000 & SV1000Pvr

All i was saying was, why make it look like you are holding out, instead just be honest about it. So far three supposed times for file releases have came and gone dont give a approx time, just say from the beginning that its a total rewrite and then noone would think ur trying to leave them out.

SV Support will continue to rock, i just think they dropped the ball on keeping their users better informed.
