Sonicview 360 premiere no signal losing channels missing satellite etc.
equipment:
sonicview 360 premier (January) DN dish 500 plus DP Dual Band LNBF for orbital locations; 118.7°, 119° DP Single LNBF 110° dp34 switch DN DishPro plus power Adaptor dishnetwork receiver model 1000 (old but still works) settings: Sat 119: EchoStar 7 1) LNB power on 2) LNB Type OCS-DP 3) LNB freq 11250 4) 22khz OFF 5) TP freq 12224 (also tried 12239, didnt change anything) 6) Search option ALL 7) Disecq Port 1 8) Motor Disable 9) Legacy SW off S: 16 Q:37 Sat 110: EchoStar 8 1) LNB power on 2) LNB Type OCS-DP 3) LNB freq 11250 4) 22khz OFF 5) TP freq 12224 6) Search option ALL 7) Disecq Port 2 8) Motor off 9) Legacy SW None S:16 Q:39 Sat 118 Anik f3 1) LNB power on 2) LNB Type Universal 3) LNB freq 9750/10600 4) TP freq 11715 (everytime i try to change the transponder to one where i dont get S and Q both 0 when i save it and exit and check it again, it always goes back to 11715, but even after changing the TP freq the best S i can get is 9 and best Q is 34) 5) Search option ALL 6) network search on 7) Disecq Port 3 8) Motor disable 9) Legacy SW off S:0 Q:0 I am having problems with catching channels. A lot of the channels that were working before now say no signal, Also in the dish settings the only satellite it shows in the top right hand corner is Echostar 7 (119.0) it never showed anik f3 or echostar 8 (110), im supposing it never picked those up. the way i have it set up and the problem: my family has service with dish only for their international channels. they receive them perfectly out in the living room. the satellite is connected to the living room with a dishnetwork satellite receiver model 1000 (old receiver) which powers the switch with an adapter. As listed above the switch i have is the dp34. I have a seperate line in another room which comes from the switch to the sonicview premier 360. I was never able to pick up 110 or anik f3 as i stated but i would really like to get this thing working. I understand the international has moved to N3, but i would mainly like to receive 110 and 119 perfectly if i could. on the dishnetwork receiver model 1000 i checked the switch and it says its working fine. Is there anyone that can help me? I tried different LNB frequencies and difference transponder frequencies but to no avail. i am never able to get a high signal or quality. Is it the switch? As i mentioned in the dish settings, above the graph on the right it always says echostar 7. even when i am trying to change the settings for echostar 8, it says echostar 7 above the graph and echostar 8 below the graph. So i suppose that means it is not picking up an echostar 8 signal or something? how can i fix this problem? Please help me. Anything I discuss on the subject of satellites, is strictly, hypothetical and in theory, and on an educational basis. I do not condone, recommend, nor do I practice the theft of any signal from any Provider of Satellite signals. |

Re: Sonicview 360 premiere no signal losing channels missing satellite etc.
Your meters tell you that you are not connected. The S meter should be way up.
When it is connected, the S meter will jump way up. It should remain constant at 80 or higher. Check on the back of the receiver, and be sure the LNB cable is connected to the right port. It should be labeled 13v/18v. That is where the cable goes into the receiver. You may also want to trace the cable all the way out to the DP34.

Re: Sonicview 360 premiere no signal losing channels missing satellite etc.
Give this a try, turn off the lnb on 119 & 110. If you have 2 seperate dishes, you are probably pointed at 61.5 for your international channels. Try scanning on 61.5 for the international channels. Look at the dishes, & see if the 2nd dish is about 90 degrees to the left from behind the dish. If that is the case then scan the 61.5, & change the lnb to dp.

Re: Sonicview 360 premiere no signal losing channels missing satellite etc.
woodcreeker thank you for your response.
Yes, i did trace the wires to make sure they are going to the correct port, and they are going to the correct port on the dp34 switch. The wire from the switch is going into the IF in port of the receiver, it is labeled 13v/18v. all the wire connections are secure. thank you satman99 for your response. i do not have two seperate dishes i only have one dish and two receivers. I have gotten some channels on the 119 and a couple ppv's. Anything I discuss on the subject of satellites, is strictly, hypothetical and in theory, and on an educational basis. Re: Sonicview 360 premiere no signal losing channels missing satellite etc.
Try turning off lnbs & if your scanning 118 leave that sat off to. They should all be dp on your lnb selection.

Re: Sonicview 360 premiere no signal losing channels missing satellite etc.
The right port the cable goes in is on one of the bottom 4 ports on the DP34.
Use Connecton Type: Seperate in your settings. Now on setting up your receiver, you need to do this ... I would Factory Default with the remote first. Download and unzip and copy these files to your USB drive. This one first --> Sonicview SV-360 Premier Bin File V0119P - Must Be Loaded To All New Premiers This one second --> Sonicview SV-360 Premier Sat File This one third --> Latest Fix New Bin File SV360Premier_V0175P_CharlieBlackoutFIXED_01-08-09 Load them into your receiver in the order given above. Also Factory Default with the remote from the Menu in between each file you load. Then your settings should be correct above. You can follow this --> Sonicview SV-360 Premier Perfect Scan Method I would not worry about Anik F3 as all those channels are scrambled now. I can help you setup and scan that satellite at a later date.

Re: Sonicview 360 premiere no signal losing channels missing satellite etc.
According to your pics, do what I told you in my last post. If you go into the menu on your sub, press 6,1,1, you will then see the switch setup. This will tell you the way the tech set up your switch. It will tell you which location is on which port. Set the ports the same on your sonicview.

Re: Sonicview 360 premiere no signal losing channels missing satellite etc.
I will be here.
Be sure you are wired this way from the pictures below ... Notice the ports are labeled on the large LNB. You do not have the optional 129W LNB from the above LNB picture. Anik F3 settings for future reference: Anik F3 118.7W LNB Power: On LNB Type: Universal (or possibly OCS-DP here) LNB Freq High: 10750 LNB Freq Low: 9750 22KHz: Off TP: 11715 <- Use this to see Quality DiSEqC: Port 3 Motor: Off Legacy SW: None

Re: Sonicview 360 premiere no signal losing channels missing satellite etc.
WC, he needs to go with the way it is wired now, the way the tech wired it. If he changes it he will cause problems with his sub. Thats why I had him do a check switch. You never can tell which way the tech wired it.

Re: Sonicview 360 premiere no signal losing channels missing satellite etc.
I did a factory reset following the directions. All the sats are in the correct ports. i followed the wires back to the switch as well as checked them through the sub receiver (the DN model 1000 receiver).
All the wiring is securely connected and in great condition (all the equipment is only 3 months old). i scanned the channels on 110 and 119. when i scanned 119 when it was done scanning it said end at the top right corner. when i scanned 110 it said failed at the top right corner after it was done scanning for channels. above the graph it still only says echostar 119 regardless of whether i am setting up 119 or 110. when i am setting up 110 shouldnt it say 110? I am receiving some channels however not that many maybe about 150 or so. 1-3 ppv and maybe 10-15 premium. i would just like to thank you all once again for your help and support but i am still not able to figure this thing out. |

Re: Sonicview 360 premiere no signal losing channels missing satellite etc.
Are you sure your dish is aligned properly. You should be able to bring in over 350 channels on 110 which carries most of the PPV's.

Re: Sonicview 360 premiere no signal losing channels missing satellite etc.
spyder, i am not sure my dish is aligned properly. how would i go about checking that? i just assumed it was aligned properly since dn was the one who came to set it up, but again he came to set it up only to catch 118.
but when i check the signal of 110 and 119 on the sub receiver (dn1000) it is pretty strong. so i dont know. |

Re: Sonicview 360 premiere no signal losing channels missing satellite etc.
You can go to lyngsat.com and see what channels are on 110. Check your sub and see if your getting those channels or any of them you are subscribed to.
If your not getting 110 channels you can go to dishpointer.com to get your proper alignment settings. |

Re: Sonicview 360 premiere no signal losing channels missing satellite etc.
Quote:
(I believe that information is printed right on the the switch as well) If the rest is wired, it is generally connected the way it is diagrammed above. Quote:
If the dish appears level, I would say it probably is not sighted in properly. Most Dish 500s and the like lean to the left as you are looking at them. They also face towards the South West. Since you are in FL, the dish might be aimed towards 61.5W and be facing towards the South East direction. That would mean the dish cannot be getting 110W and 119W facing that way. Here is also another thought I had what might be going on here. Do you turn off your subbed receiver ?? I would always leave the sub on. That receiver helping to power the LNB system. You do not have to worry, receivers receive, they do not transmit. LNBs do not send anything anywhere information-wise either. I would check and see if all the wiring is connected from the Dish Plus LNB to the DP34 switch. I haven't given up, I was just busy with something and away from the site. I do not give up easily.

Re: Sonicview 360 premiere no signal losing channels missing satellite etc.
so ive been out of commission for a while... but im back.... i have to say... i have been on a few fta sites..... and this site is by far the best and most helpful of them all...
woodcreeker..... thank you so very much for all of your continuous help. i still continue to have the same problems as i have had previously. my satellite is set properly with an azimuth of 236, elevation of 41 and skew of 135... on my sub receiver, i am able to get strength of above 80 for both 118 and 119 with a transponder of 20. but the 110 is zero. when i change the transponder to 22 on the sub receiver the 110 jumps up to above 80. again the sub is dishnetwork receiver model 1000. on my sonicview, i am able to catch 119 but still cant get 110. ive tried changing the transponder but still only get 119. When i go into dish settings, below the graph it does say echostar 8. but above the graph it says echostar 7 (119). i am never able to get it to say 110 echostar 8 above the graph at all the transponder settings ive tried. the wiring and everything is fine, ive double checked everything including the wires coming from the lnb's to the switch. and everything is set correctly. everything is set up exactly how you have it in the picture you have provided. ive also tried to change stuff with the sub receiver on, or off it doesnt make a difference. the dish is posted with a pole which is in the ground. im not sure which way it is pointing i have no compass. thank you all again for any help you can provide me. and thank you again woodcreeker. |
