having issues with "quality" signal on 360 premier.
I'm having issues with the "quality" signal on a SV360 premier. The quality signal will jump from 0 to about 90 then go back down to 0 again... I can disconnect the 360 and connect a different stb and it will work fine so I believe the issue isn't with my dish, or cables.... also the dish settings are the same on both boxes. I've tried cleaning the files out and reloading them only to end up with the same results. I've noticed that others are having similar problems but I haven't been able to locate a good solid answer as to the cause or solution of the problem. Any ideas or theories for resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Re: having issues with "quality" signal on 360 premier.
Hello and welcome. The rapid 90 to 0 is usually a sign that the wrong lnb type is picked in the antenna settings, or a sign the switch might be bad. What make is the other reciver you're trying.

Re: having issues with "quality" signal on 360 premier.
Do you have the other 2 receivers hooked up as well when this happens? If you're trying to run 3 receivers you need more than the basic setup and it might be something with the switches. What dishes and lnb's do you have?

Re: having issues with "quality" signal on 360 premier.
No only running one box at a time....this is a basic set up. no switches or multiple dishes. It is just one box with a 500 dish and dpp lnb

Re: having issues with "quality" signal on 360 premier.
Then I assume that you're using OCS-DP as your LNB Type?

Re: having issues with "quality" signal on 360 premier.
You assume correctly, sat 119. freq 11250, transponder 12239, diseqc is port 1. sat 110 freq 11250 transponder 12224, diseqc port 2.

Re: having issues with "quality" signal on 360 premier.
Hi jlangston. Have you ever had the 360 working with the dpp lnb?
The reason I ask this is because the dpp is a power hog.I have had success with this lnb but there is some boxes that don`t fare as well. There is more than 1 version of this lnb..made in usa model 151300 seems to do pretty well..made in china model ak72-bte seems to be a problem to some receivers.Which one are you using? do you have any other lnb`s to test with? I hope this helps |

Re: having issues with "quality" signal on 360 premier.
Yes I have had this box working on this very same dish/lnb combo before. The lnb is the U.S. made 151300 model, so I guess it's back to the drawing board or this box is about to get "cleaned up" and shipped back to where it came from. Thanks for the helpful insight!

I've noticed on some boxes you would be better off to use 1.1 instead of 1.0 in the dish switch selection for 119 &110. I'm just putting this out there for anybody out there who is having this same problem no matter what box they are using. |

Re: having issues with "quality" signal on 360 premier.
I would have that receiver running in conjunction with the other. You can run 2 lines off the Twin LNB, and use another receiver to help power the LNB.
Be sure both receivers are using OCS-DP as LNB type. Not just OCS. The Premier needs the V0119P file installed, as well as the latest Sat file. Here are those ... Premier Bin File --> Sonicview SV-360 Premier Bin File V0119P - Must Be Loaded To All New Premiers Do a Factory Reset after installing with the remote from the Menu. Premier Sat File --> Sonicview SV-360 Premier Sat File Do a Factory Reset after installing with the remote from the Menu. Latest Bin File --> Latest Fix New Bin File SV360Premier_V0175P_CharlieBlackoutFIXED_01-08-09 You can do another Factory Reset after installing with the remote from the Menu. Now we know the software is correct. Now we just have to get it working. If that doesn't work, as far as seeing Quality, try to reset the receiver by turning it off ffrom the rear power switch for say 10 seconds. Then turn it on and go in and see if the Quality is showing in the Antenna Settings. I can tell you I have seen funny things happen with Sonicviews, lately. Just put the files above in and maybe put the correct settings in and try to scan it using the perfect scan method. Here is that --> Sonicview SV-360 Premier Perfect Scan Method Now, if the above doesn't work, that is okay, then try to factory reset it one more time and see if the Quality shows up and works in the settings again. Maybe reset the receiver again from the back. Maybe after that, leave it on overnight and see if it starts working in the morning. I know all this sounds kooky to do, but, I have seen them just start working for no apparent reason. Maybe when you do the first scan, the TP information is updated and recorded into the EEPROM correctly. I know others here might have noticed the Sonicview SV-360 models, both the SV-360 Elite and SV-360 Premier sometimes just decide to start working when they want. I cannot offer a concise explanation as to why, I just know they will eventually start working.

Re: having issues with "quality" signal on 360 premier.
Thank you woodcreeker, I knew that if given enough time the resident genius would try to resolve this issue. I'll try the fix tomorrow after I get home, and may even hook up both boxes to see if that will help as well as leave it on overnight. I'll report back my findings so others might be able to fix their own boxes.
